Thanks for the picture. Did they weld in the cross bracing?

Justin over @ Scott's Hot Rods and Chassis said they are starting my chassis this month and would send some build pics.

I still can't believe we are building this thing ... from hey my truck needs some work to ...hey which year of SEMA is it going to make an appearance at.

Re: The Burb a long time coming

Also came up with a new item to make the interior guy roll his eyes ...

Since I have been told by some that I am already committing sacrilege in so many ways on this project by cutting it and adding a Double Din, to setting the system up to run a FI on a lil twin screw on Flex Fuel ...

So I am now going to need a Overhead / Headliner Monitor POD ... cause the interior is going full out digital with a touch screen, minus the HDX, doors, seat and window switches.

I figure I am going I might as well go big.

Re: The Burb a long time coming

piece heading to Mo's along with the double din case for final sizing.

Need to get some interior renderings for them done so they have a guide and so I will stop making changes

Next on the list is vintage a/c controls for HDX placement and vent choices

Looks like it's gonna be quite the Burb, gonna give Rob a run for his money.

I have no idea what double din, HDX, or a lot of the other stuff is, gonna have to do some Google searching just to keep up haha!

Re: The Burb a long time coming

lol Rob is safe ...

And the HDX is Dakota Digital's gauge replacement cluster with a lot of features one of which allows me to receive boost information directly into the cluster without an extra gauge and it has a few other tricks

Double Din is a stereo that requires double the space to fit.
3" tall cd player .... to a 6" touch screen

maybe ..?

Re: The Burb a long time coming

Well picked up some new old parts for the Burb yesterday

Thanks to richard2717 I am able to hand Blake real tail light and back up light buckets to fill in those holes in the back end ... no matter what a vendor tells you they ARE NOT selling a Suburban tail light housing ... they are ALL tagged incorrectly ...sorry $.02

Anyway, I was dreading the thought of having them stop to make some from scatch
because that's what mine were ... scratch

Anyway thank you Richard for your help and fair business

Re: The Burb a long time coming

Is this your dash?? Or a similar one? I noticed your fill piece has a bead rolled edge. This pic doesn't appear the same.

Curious how easy it is to handle the edge where the ash tray used to be. I don't have access to slip rolls

This one is concept ... someone did this layout which made me think of the rolled edge giving it more depth

Still thinking of removing the vent from the stock location and bringing it in lower

Ya I figured I could spend another 10 -15 years doing a weak shade tree restore and never see my vision done

... or work an extra 5-10 years and pay a professional to do it

... and I was already working

besides Blake and his crew went through it and found issues I would have never found , until that part showed it self and needed replacement.

And yes a donor would have been cheaper but it wouldn't have been the same tank that got so many thumbs up and me from A to B so many times when it should have said no more
