You don't shorten the column... You collapse your existing lower steering shaft. If you move the column closer to the dash as many do, you don't need to relocate the nss, it clears the dash, just need to extend the wires a bit. Great price on an OEM GM tilt column!

I collapsed mine already. My nss is right up against the firewall now.

Well here is more info. The slip was collapsed to make the wheel closer to the dash however I am at a loss as to where it came from because it has no provisions at all for a neutral safety switch at all. Pics will follow. Its still a gm keyless tilt column but I have never seen one without the nss hole so maybe someone jnows more about where it came from than me. I can tell you that its the same length as a non tilt column except the shaft.
