If this question was for me, I bought it new 02/2005. Fantastic vehicle. Only reason I would want to sell it is to get a Suburban 2500 for the seating room.
Ran out of seats in the crew cab. Wife and 4 kids.

I heard about those smaller diesels coming out for half tons, that will be awesome when they start production!

I wish that was in production, except it was in a half-ton extended cab longbox pickup.

Im sure it was. Its funny how they claim some of the vehicals there "own" my bro bought a dodge a few years back and he ended up getting the old truck while his wife drove the dodge then the same thing happend when they bought the diesel.

Yea, I originally wanted to keep the Duramax and sell the 01, but my wife claimed she would go with the 01 if I sold it...well you see who won that argument

One more, Mine is an 07 3500 4x4, Allison, SRW, Leather, it came from Texas about 4 years ago, I have never driven it in the salt/winter, use it mostly for towing. Love the LBZ power, still stock and staying that way.

Re: Any Duramax owners out there?

I bought this 2005 LLY earlier this year. It has a few miles on it but it runs great and pulls really hard. I've had to do some work to remove the "old-man" accessories the previous owner installed. Overall I'm really happy with it.

Mine has 190k on it, and it runs perfectly.
With proper care and love these trucks will serve a long time!

Re: Any Duramax owners out there?

Owned this 05 for about 10 days.

Traded it for this 07, had it for a couple years and then sold it to free up money for my 81.

Bought this 07 this spring, and outfitted it the same as the first 07. The frame is rustier and the body is chipped a little more, but the interior is almost perfect.

Re: Any Duramax owners out there?

I'm a less-is-more kind of guy. I pulled the wheel covers, giant rear mudflaps, bowtie front mudflaps, telescoping factory mirrors, and bug shield so far. There was also some interior stuff that had to go. I debadged the whole truck and I'll probably pull the smoker ventshades and the side steps soon. My daughter uses the steps so I'll have to have something lined up before I remove them though. I just don't like huge chrome tubes dangling off the side. I have the front flares off now but don't have a real recent picture.

Re: Any Duramax owners out there?

The steps are handy to have. Especially if you get the wheel to wheel type. Makes it easy to get to stuff in the forward end of the bed. I'd scuff em and paint em black if the chrome is too much.
Mudflaps depend on where you drive. They're more a utility item for me. I drive on a bunch of wet sandy "dirt" roads around here. They keep the paint from getting sandblasted off the rockers and rear fenders. With a Dually it keeps the rocks you pickup on gravel roads from getting thrown at the traffic around you.
I'm with you on the smoker ventshades.
