Re: Got a Smokin Deal on a 1967 GMC C20 Super Custom
It didn't hit me before but like Tim pointed out, the buckets in bed are green and that means they aren't original to the truck. The other SPIDS you posted confirm that Z84 is top level (super custom) for these trucks and Z62 is mid grade (custom). Buddies would have been an option in anything less than a Z84 but would be on the SPID. Buddies are standard in a Super Custom 67 and 68 as far as I know.

Re: Got a Smokin Deal on a 1967 GMC C20 Super Custom
The interior of this truck is green. I caused some confusion when I posted a couple other SPID's from other trucks but nonetheless you are both right- this is not a super custom truck. I'm pretty sure the buddies were added after the fact since they're not listed on the SPID and there is no brace or screw holes for the center console in the cab. I guess now I won't feel so bad when I steal the buddies out of it for another project

Re: Got a Smokin Deal on a 1967 GMC C20 Super Custom
Jeremy, good point on the lack of brace and holes, can't argue with that evidence and its good it matches the SPID lack of buckets.
Indeed on the green interior on yours. I'm just so used to seeing the fawn on these 67 gmc's, especially the teal/green outside colored ones. Here are a couple of those Eric found: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=648372 and this 4x4 that had factory buckets.

Re: Got a Smokin Deal on a 1967 GMC C20 Super Custom
This truck has great bones for a factory stock restoration, something in all honesty, is rarely undertaken on this model. The few that exist mainly fall into 2 groups, unappreciated neglected workhorses or were always in great original condition to begin with. Note, the PO3 chrome hubcap option and V 37 chrome bumper option suggests this level of trim vehicle would have came with painted trim.

Re: Got a Smokin Deal on a 1967 GMC C20 Super Custom
I'd love to see this truck restored for real (ie: with its original powertrain). So many have been converted over to GMGoodwrench 350 trucks that I don't think many remain.
At least there wouldn't be a hundred just like it wherever you go....

For the person that ask about the wipers. Those are wind deflectors and at speed put downward pressure on the wiper.

They do work well at speed, just wondering if they were aftermarket or dealer option
Thanks |
