Hey, your Burb was awesome before! Great work man! This is going to be an awesome build! As far as a paint sceme, go black with it! That's just a random thought.

Why wouldn't you use a 67-72 stepside fender and make it look like it's almost factory?

Well, thats a great question. A good buddy of mine has a 67 stepside and i grabbed one of his rear quarters and lined up on the truck and it just didnt look right. I think part of it was just vause with the stepside pannels theres an agressive swoop in the front where the wheel wells start. On the suburban it just didnt look correct cause with the 3 door style theres just a huge pannel on the drivers side that the elongated curve looks better and the stepside pannels looked like it stuck out a boat load like a big hump (hope that made sense). Secondly the quarters that were on it i already had and it was more of a convience factor. Finally i knew i was gonna have to hack them up regardless to widen the, for the larger wheelwells so i didnt wanna buy new fenders just to cut them in half and risk it looking worse. I think widening the wheelwell is a big risk as is and i think the quarters that are on it seem to look alright... great point though the thought did cross my mind.

Heres kinda what i was refering to in regards to not flowing well (in my opinion ofcorse!) like they do on step sides. IMO it looks like a brick mounted to the bed where as the quarters i have kinda flow out. Idk feel free to agree/disagree.

The before truck was just a little to wild for my tastes, but I like the way you are going now. I think it would look cool with a stock style two tone paint scheme. Keep up the good work!

Thanks man! Yea with the leaf springs it just sat a little too tall ha! Where the rear tire sits in the wheelwell thats just a little bit lower than ride height.

In regards to paint sche, i like the idea of the original two tone, it was a light blue and white so im definitely considering that. At the end if the day i want a paint color that is going to be suddle but clean, the truck is obvously radical in its own reich and i dont wanna have a crazy paint job that will take away from the fab work ect. Thanks for the tips man, keep the ideas comming!

Sweet burb! I guess part of the dually fender on the passenger side will open up with the door? While your at it why not round off the openings to match the front fenders a little more?

I love me some ice cold Colorado Kool Aid!

Haha thanks man i sure do enjoy my rocky mountain water! I will end up rounding the fenders to match the fronts the only problem is that i need to put the front set of tires lined up with the front quarters to see if i need to do a little trimming.
With the rear passenger dually, it extends into the passender rear door. Just now it will go. Further onto the door. The problem is that it will cover up the door lock/handle so i guess i will buy a set of door poppers and shave the rear door and use a popper for the passenger doors since it comes in a set of 2. Ill still keep my driver door with the handle just incase there were to be a malfunction with the poppers ect. Let me know what ya think!

Hey buddy, sorry for the late response! I’ve been real busy but i actually looked at the fenders and one of my buddies has a 93 dually and the quarters are the same. Only difference is whoever had the fenders prior to me put a lot of body filler in them to close up some of the gaps and body lines. I’ve got a lot done on the truck though and ill post up pics here in the next few days. Started on the tube frame chassis, got the paint all off, sand blasted all the nooks and crannies, and clipped the drip pan on the sides.

As a side note I’m looking to sell the IFS/dana 60 8 lug dually set up as well as the wheels and tires that was on the truck prior to the rockwells. I only say that because you said you wanted a dually suburban Ill pm ya if your interested!

And oh yea thanks for the complement

Nice progress.
Personally, I liked the slammed street dually, but originality and custom definitely dominate this build.
