Re: Sum Lowlifes
Hay when my trucks fuel sock got clogged in the stock tank I got about 2 to 3 minutes run time before it ran dry. So yes I believe him.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
My wifes car got broken into while being inside our garage we left to the store in my truck and locked the house up just that the garage was one of these nonelectric ones and the guys some how maneged to break that bar thing that goes from the garage door to the hole in the garage rail and there they took her purse, raidio an amp that didnt work, an amp that did work and well every single personal document that you could imagine. Now we can't take any thing out on credit cuz of the basterds messing her credit up. she went from a 795 to a 560 credit score in about half a year. The only thing that the PD said was that if these guys get caught the only thing that they face is misdeminor charges for the theft and a state feloney for the idenity theft. But what really pissed me of was that these guys only get misdeminor charges and that it, but it you beat one of them with some thing it's a feloney right away.

It's stuff like this that makes me happy that I have 135lbs of teeth gnashing, nasty attitude residing in my yard. If you want to get into my garage you have to get past my "little baby" to get near the tools and the 'burb.

I miss living in Wyoming, everyone had a gun and would use it. Not many things get stolen.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
I agree. Up here, there's been a rash of stuff going around the past couple weeks. The kinda crap that I wouldn't mind setting my crosshairs on the guys who are doing it. As for everyone having a gun, well, there's more than a few who do, and more than a few who'll use em. I keep at least one in my truck all the time, mostly for hunting, but if I needed it, I'm not afraid to defend my property.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
man i feel for you! YES a carburated Vehical can run for a min or two with just any fuel in the bowl and lin e. I do not mean to be mean but WTF are you doing making a comment like that about this situation if you don't even know that a carb cab run for a min or two with out a fuel cell? I mean come on man this guy got his stuff jacked and you are going on about the fuel cell being stolen when any body that has been around an old car will tell you they can run for a min or two on the fuel in the bowl and line!!! Any ways that is not the point the point is that some low lifes stole his stuff. AHhh while i have never had stuff stolen from my car have been vandilized. The first time was when my paint was barely old. It got keyed!! i was pisssed! Then some one did it two months later alittle above the other one! i wa so pissed i kicked my own truck.. Maybe it was alittle imature but i was really upset that some one would key my truck just cause it looked nice. I got a pic of the first key to. Well in the end it is how you treat others after this happens to you and i just let it go but if i ever find that son!@$%^&# .... but man mine got scartched after a nice new painting you are not able to move and those parts will cost alot.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
LEGEND HAS IT ..... Many years ago Smokey Yunick was caught at Daytona International Speedway with an illegal fuel cell. He had crafted a false bottom in the existing cell providing him with an udetermined amount of fuel greater than the maximum of 32 gallons. Nascar was not amused , confiscated the cell on the spot and disqualified the car from the upcoming weekends race.
Smokey was a tad bit angry as he'd been caught " creatively interpreting " the rules. He hopped in his Chevelle, fired it and drove it back to his shop. HIS SHOP ! Not the on site garage or a nearby gas station, his shop. I'm no math whiz or physicist but I think it very feasable that his 3/8ths fuel line , filter and pump held enough fuel to keep the bowls filled for a minute or two. It all comes down to this, is he telling the truth and if he isn't why ? Well he hasn't ask us to take up a collection and send him some new bags and hardware. He didn't ask for anything. He has nothing to gain by being less than truthful. I believe him 100% and the fact that he was robbed saddens me greatly. I hate liars and I hate thieves. In my opinion , he's neither. JMHO , Dean

Hopefully the bags and valves still have the thieves fingers attached to them when you get them back.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
I had a friend who was going out to his bmw one night to get some of his cd's out of it and noticed it rocking from side to side. He knew something was up so he went back in and grabbed his 9mm, when he came back out and was walking up to the car he saw a head pop up, he yelled at the punk and the guy took of running. He told him to stop but the guy kept running. So, He shot him in the ass. When the cops showed up, he showed them the gun the paramedics loaded in the patty wagon, the cops said since it was on private property there was nothing they could do about it, then they congradulated him on a great shot.He said he told that it sucked because he was aiming for the guys head. I asked him if the guy actually had his leg still attached and he said yes because he had not put his hollow points in because he had just recently gone target shooting. So shoot the little ****s and drag em onto your property.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
I'm glad to hear your getting your stuff back.
I believe 100% that the truck could run for a few minutes on the fuel in the lines and bowl. When I wanted to rebuild the carb on my 250, I blocked the fuel line and ran the truck to empty the carb. I didn't think the damn thing would die, it ran about 2 minutes on the just the fuel in the bowl. Anyway I would try to get money off the bastards to replace the line they cut. Were the police notified yet? If not use that as a bargaining chip for money for the lines. Mike

Re: Sum Lowlifes
Gents, not to be argumentative BUT ... IF you shoot someone who is running away from an attempted theft of your property, they will own your property VERY shortly. If you are not in immediate danger or fearing for your life, you DO NOT have the authority to pull the trigger on a thief, no matter how much the sorry bastard deserves it.
Case law is full of horror stories where the criminal sued the property owner and won. F'ed up as it may sound, it's very true. I don't mean to contradict anyone or to call any story into question. However, I can assure you with absolute certainty that if you shoot a thief simply because he stole your merchandise... you'll be going to jail and he'll be getting your stuff at the end of his successful civil suit. Just a word of warning before you pull the trigger. If you doubt me, call your local cop shop or prosecutor and ask them. JMHO, Dean

Re: Sum Lowlifes
Good friend of mine was killed(shot in the back of the head) as he was leaving a guys apartment that stole from him, without the item that was stolen from him but it was in the shooters posession. Thief walked and media made my friend sound like the crook. And the thief the victim defending himself. Now talk about backa$$wards. With witnesses to all this to boot! I have run pressure checks on fuel pumps with the pump disconneted from the carb and the engine running on what was in the carb. So I know an engine can run for a bit without a large supply of fuel or applied pressure other than the vaccum the engine creates pulling the fuel out of the carb. If it couldn't run then what good is a mechanics pressure guage for testing fuel pumps?

Re: Sum Lowlifes
In oklahoma now, if I remember correctly, if they are on your property and you persive them as a threat to you you can shoot them. Let me just say if I catch anyone stealling my stuff on my property they will be an "asumed threat" Roughedup72, send my congratulations to your friend on a good shot. Now that little sob will remember him every time he sits down to take a dump.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
Don’t forget, a high percentage of the fuel WILL evaporate out of the carburetor bowel when it is shut down warm and the vehicle is left sitting overnight. It would probably start w/o a tank but 2 minutes with the choke on? I think not.

Re: Sum Lowlifes
Haven't any of you got a car/truck running on carb cleaner before? If a truck will run for a few seconds on nothing but a shot of 2+2, I think it will run a minute or two on what's left in the lines & carb. You guys should be ashamed of yourself. Here he comes in here for a little support and sympathy, and you all give him grief and question his credibility. I ask you this....what would he have to gain by lying? Not a thing.
I'm sorry if I sound bi*chy, and you guys can roll your eyes and curse me for the female I am...but give the guy a break!
