actually Jeff, i'm not a regular. havent been there since i started working on my '86 4x4 conversion. been spending quite a bit of time on 4x4 boards gathering information and asking lots of specific questions that pertain to what i'm doing. your site has a ton of top notch information, so i'd have no problem with a 73-87.com sticker on my truck. think you could add some more 4x4 stuff? LOL

Of course bud...write me a tech article after you perform a mod, take some pics along the way, and I will publish it with your name on it.

I am striving to make this a 73-87 resource site...a place to get all the goodies for 73-87 rigs.

i agree.. i would rather have even just www.73-87.com any 73-87 owner should know what that means. if not.. maybe we dont need them on here.. JK. the whole 73-87 truck message boards at 67-72chevytrucks.com would be WAY to cluttered for a small sticker. or maybe even too much for a window sticker.. especially if someone sees you going the other way on the road.. 73-87.com would be easier to catch and remember. but.. i am not in charge of this.. just my .02.

of course.. jeff you would have to make the link to the boards BIGGER!

Is there any way to get that to go directly to the vboard index, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/?

There is a lot of combinations. We need a designer, lol. Here are a couple of my attempts.

I might be willing to register a new domain after I get a job that directs straight to this forum (the 73-87 board specifically) Just make it http://www.73-87.org or something...

Here's the url for this page using Josh's new url. Thanks Josh.

http://73-87chevytrucks.net/vboard/s...5&pagenumber=2

I like the idea of small static decals that we could put in the corner of the rear window or the vent windows. I don't want anything big, especially on the windsheild or rear window. It messes with my vision. Can't see out of the these things as it is. Since I added my small side mirrors it's even worse.

Jeff,

you need to make some for 73-87.com and see if you can pawn (errr... I mean sell) them to the site visitors. May be a way to earn a few coins to help pay for the site. By no means does it cost as much as this forum does, but it is not free. Anyway, I know I would surely sport one on my truck and feel proud to have it.

Although, saying this, if you are like I was with it, I never wanted to make the site a commercial. This was one thing that has always griped me the most. Go to a site for help and have to weed your way through all the banners and crap.

Why limit it to just the 73-87 forum, make them for all the forums on this board.....

Would greatly help Josh out..........

Uh oh. It works to get to this forum, but once here, when you click on one of the links at the top, you are right back to the 67-72 url.

Josh,

it may be asking too much, and probably sound petty, but is it possible for you to make the link at the top to the 73-87 Message Board and Parts Board with the 73-87chevytrucks.net url ?

In no way am I trying to start a war of any kind between us and the 67-72 guys. It's just an image thing I guess.

Thanks,

Mike

I think Blue has hit on something. Make different decals for every forum. This way every year would have their own unique sticker. Then we could tie them all together with the banner at top.

The Classic Chevrolet & GMC Pickup Bulletin Board Network

Works for me.

My thoughts were that a person driving a 72 would probably be more apt to buy one for his particular ride..........

Yes, you are right, and we don't need to forget the GMC guys here. They wouldn't want a sticker saying Chevy only on it. There's probably just as many GMC guys overall as there is Chevy guys.

Wonder how much extra it would be to make the stickers out of the same stuff of those "see-through" murals for back windows? That way, they wouldnt block the views for anyone. Maybe the sticker could be in the shape of a Chevy emblem? Get several different designs and take a poll to see which one is liked the best....

Why not register a domain name like ClassicGMtrucks.com and have it point directly to the message board? The GM would represent Chevrolet and GMC.

I like Low87on20s idea -- Lets register http://www.classicGM.net/ (making the .net BIG so people don't put .com or something in and get to the wrong site) and have it link directly to the main forum index (http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard)

Its short, covers all bases, and is real easy to remember. We should have vent window stickers, windsheild stickers, solid rear window stickers, rear sliding stickers, and smaller general decals to put in the bottom corner of the rear window or something (thats would I would be most likely to buy, something small to put in the bottom left hand corner of my rear window behind me head so it doesn't get in the way)

As swerve mentioned, we should have different colors, GMC and Chevy, and if there are pictures of trucks on them, one of each body style.

Just that one has a .com ending, and one has a .net ending.

net = network
com = company
org = organization
ca = canada

etc
