Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Sounds like they wouldnt fix it because it is illeagal to do so on a tire with that much wear and they really didnt want any part of the liability of it so they charged you to dismount and didnt want any further dealings with it. yeah a local independent guy can see where you are coming from but they are so many sue happy people out there that a big corprate company cant take the chances. Could you imagine what a lawsuit there would be from some guy just looking to sue a large company for fixinf an illegal tire that was too worn out?
Not saying you personally would do it but there are so many that would.
Glad you found a local guy that has your business now.

The tread bars were visible but @ no point on that tire was there 'no tread'. The tire passed DOT/state inspection but it was 'near' the end of its service life.

I feel it was based more on how things went down.....
