Re: And so it begins................
I would have left the truck alone. aside from the seat needing a fresh blanket every month or 2 it looks done. you do have a 402 and ac after all.

Re: And so it begins................
OMG that truck is a beast!!! I have a sub on my computer and the sound of the exhaust was rattling the license plates on my walls! I'm jealous. My little 6 banger will never sound like that. I can try though.

Re: And so it begins................
Thanks! It's getting that way already. Santy Claus showed up the other day in his big brown sleigh wearing a UPS uniform but I know who it REALLY was.
Not having any luck with the JVC shaft mount stereo though. It seemed to work ok on the test bench but when I put it in the truck it was "no go". I may have to look for another one. |

Re: And so it begins................
I know that's right, I'm gonna hide my truck in the trees and walk the rest of the way to the good trucks.
And just for the record, it's the boy that's lookin for a Patina truck, not me! I'll get to repairing the floorboards, cab corners and painting it later. Gotta get the important stuff out of the way first like a stereo!! Speaking of stereos, that 4 channel JVC I had such high hopes for let me down. Tuner wouldn't pick up anything worth a flip. Had to go with an old Pioneer Supertuner3. I guess it will work but it's only 2 channels and not as powerful either. |

Re: And so it begins................
No need to park in the trees. Everyone's truck is sweet in it's own right. Some, like mine, are further away from completion than others, but it's still nice in my eyes! Part of what makes a truck nice is it's capabilities to be all it can be!

Re: And so it begins................
Yeah, it had 22w per channel which is good for a shaft mount stereo, it had 4 channels, it had the blue amp remote wire, it had the original faceplate and knobs and everything seemed to be fine but when I hooked it up I couldn't get a clear station. Anyway, I put the Pioneer in for now so at least I'll have a radio for a while.
Listen, there is a pretty good looking Kenwood on ebay right now that only has 8w per channel but it appears to be a really nice unit for 100.00 if anyone with amp is looking for a shaft mount head unit. |
