Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop
Got the Cab over to the guy for some rust therapy...sorry for the quality of pics..no fancy camera for this guy...I spend all my extra dough on truck parts.
Pass side inner, outer rockers, cab corners and outer floorboards all wrapped up

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop
Picked up a new bed from a guy here local and got it trimmed to fit and put on.
Then started stripping the paint off of it Decided it was easier to disassemble the bed and work on the parts separately. Got the Driver's side bedside down to bare metal and epoxy primed. Decided to just go with a repop tailgate from LMC I was actually surprised at how well it fit and the thickness of the metal. Very happy with it. Sent the bed off with a fellow club member to get some sheet metal work done on the inside of the bed. Also sold all of the old body panels and the small window cab to a friend of mine. We started tearing the truck down and of course it had to rain on us.

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop
Well we got the cab off and took a few measurements to check the previous owners workmanship on the "Z"....needless to say nothing is square and one side of the frame is higher than the other. So we decided to find a new factory frame and splice on the nice back half that Popeye built and just go with a dropmember up front.
Had to sell my vacation to purchase the Porterbuilt, but a friend of mine in Alabama had purchased a complete front kit, and had no plans of starting his build anytime soon. So I picked this stuff up a few hundred bucks cheaper than it sells for and didn't have to pay shipping...so I lucked out!! Nice untouched frame Mine getting ready for surgery Most of this will go in the scrap iron pile Of course we'll be keeping Popeye's work

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop
Getting ready to join together old and new
Drilled holes to plug weld and plated the backside for added strength Got it all back together and slicked out with some chassis saver paint(same crap as POR-15 without the shine) I dig the satin look

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop
Dropmember going in....you can also see we boxed in a large portion of the frame
Modular Big Brake Kit and rear disk conversion from CPP showed up Close Up of the rear brake kit installed Close Up of the front brakes and the rest of the PB Goodies installed Drivers side View through the wheels Rear Got rid of that ugly home made boat tank, replaced it with a rear mount tank kit from LMC Truck Complete Chassis with the motor back on laid out....much better than that old junk

Re: 65 C10 SWFS BBW "Clyde" @Poypeyes Rod Shop
Took a little "me time" last night and finally got my truck club tat. A lot of though went into it, just now getting around to getting it done. For those of you who do not know I am a Staff Sergeant (12C) in the Army and Have done my time in the sandbox. So that is the thought behind the Cpt. America shield in the shadows. Also, our club has been around for 22 years and I have been a member since 2008. So this is a proud moment and I thought who better to share it with than a bunch of truck dudes. Hope yall dig it!!!
Tattoo was done by Chris Stripling of Fineline Tattoo in Bossier City, LA
