Mounted in the Door jam (can you clarify this)???

Or better still post pics, I would appreciate it.

Thanx.

Well, I will try to take some pictures of it, but the solenoid is WAY up in there and I am not sure I can get a pic of it.

It is mounted directly above the lever that pull up on the latch (where the door handle went.) I know, still confusing. If you open your door, there is a small flat spot the screws holding my solenoid is mounted right there.

Lohrtbt, that would be great, we are all waiting on the shaved door entry system seminar.

Captkaos, I looked at the area in the door I think you are describing, way up in the top rear corner of the door above the latch? but my mounting bracket is to wide. i got the 50lb solenoids, maybe they are bigger than the 35lb'ers?the solenoid itself will fit up in there just the bracket is too wide. but i beleive if i cut the bracket down width wise and drill some new mounting holes in it I can mount mine in that location which is what i will likely do depending on what Lohrtbt comes back with. otherwise i'm gonna have mount somewhere else and redirect the cable which i don't think i want to do want to do.

I appreciate you guys going to all the trouble to help me out.

Clean carpet! Watch for Dave's new line in the future, Anal Andy's Special Lube. Brandon was telling me about it.

Glad you bumped this.... It has been raining since Sunday (last day I worked on the Jimmy) and the doors are outside. My solenoids are the 35lb versions. If you have the large ones you will need to redirect, but it isn't that big of a deal. I do know I won't have shaved handles again, to much of a pain.
