Re: 71 c10 restoration
Pretty torn between colors, heading to paint soon. The interior of the truck will be black carpet, bench seat, door panels, headliners. Need some opinions

Re: 71 c10 restoration
Do you know the paint code for the original color on that truck? I have a tailgate that I bought that is that color.

Re: 71 c10 restoration
I used the Borla Pro XS mufflers. Here is a clip (not my truck). You can tell they're a little more mellow, less hollow sounding, if that makes sense. To me they sound like a mix of american muscle and european power.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVza-rhB7H4 But picking mufflers is like choosing paint colors haha. |

Re: 71 c10 restoration
New tank came in from "Ricks tanks". Looks great and fit well. Sadly the fuel lines and connectors are on back order from summit. Should pair well with the holly snyper fuel rails.

Re: 71 c10 restoration
The stock injectors from the 6.0 would not work with the ls3 intake. "Unfortunately" I had to upgrade to 42lbs injectors and holly fuel rails.

Re: 71 c10 restoration
Good news! my headers came in from "Headmen Headers" they look great and fit well. Decided to go with the shorties to increase the bottom-end power compared to top-end power with long tubes. Cant wait to hear this baby purr

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Love your color choice. I am having the same battle right now on colors, to go orange/white or black/white. I love my existing black and silver wheels on my K10 and want the color to match. Figure at the end of the day both are great looks. Keep up the good work!

Pulled apart the old bed sides. Need to sandblast and determine if they are usable or if a repop bed is better.

Was able to get a little work done this weekend. Installed the C-notch, and worked with the exhaust some. Slow but steady progress

Got some updated photos from the paint shop. Dropping the newly sandblasted doors off this weekend. Hoping the paint and body work has a quick turn around once they have the doors |

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
They fit ok but are thinner than OEM as well. Post 163 on this thread shows the major alignment issue that can't really be resolved on the repop tailgates but it isn't that bad really.

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Dad and I spent many hours working on the truck this weekend. While I was finishing up the C-Notches he worked to tack together an exhaust. What a stellar job! |

Visited the cab at the painters. Rockers have been installed and the doors hung. The dough work is complete inside the cab, around the door jams and the fire wall. Paint should be shot soon! |

Doing a little dough work my self in the barn. Been working on straightening out the fenders. Aside from some minor dents the body work is coming along greatly! |

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Went to Lone star throw down this weekend with my father and saw a lot of amazing trucks. Was a great inspiration for me to get in the barn and keep working. I was able to finish the little body work needed on the fenders, and started work on the hood. Dad had been working tirelessly to finish the exhaust. Made a modification to the plan and we are going to incorporate the X-pipe like originally planned.
