Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
Yes, you do need a grill don't you? LOL
Along with a bench seat. Come on now, high schooler and football player? You of all people need a bench seat! |

Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
I will see if I still have my grill, if I do I'll send it out that way. Wasn't pretty but it's free, just pay shipping! Idk where it got to but I'll look tomorrow

Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
Are you going to have those doors media blasted and painted or are you just going to clean them up a bit and put them on?

Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
Of course don't hurt yourself, but getting sore from those doors will be more fulfilling than any day in the weight room.
Try to block and shim the doors up so you don't have to hold them, that is what I do when I have to lift or line up and hold heavy objects when I am working alone. If your GF likes this sort of truck, you might want to consider getting "serious" with her. I used to haul my first high school GF around in my 1972 stepside. My current GF likes it a lot too. |

Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
lol true and i might have to do that, and lately we havent been so hot, yknow its not normal for a country boy like me to leave city boy sunglasses in her house, and some dude "lost" his if ya know what i mean. but hopefully we can work things out. i really love her. but yeah back to the truck. im probably gunna find some way to block and shim the door up, tried a jack but that didnt end well.

See if you can get the truck under something to hang the door from w 2 rachet straps, worked for me, then you have adjustment too.

Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
It's always easier if a tool is doing the heavy lifting. I mounted a cabinet over my toilet today but it's heavy and awkward....I first built a stand out of 2x4's and screws. That held it for me while I made sure it was squarely aligned and level. Easy as being in the bed wide awake! (As my dad would say).

Re: 15 year old fixing his first truck up!
My wife and I do well and still refuse to buy our daughter a car. She can work part time jobs and purchase her own car and insurance. I was raised that way and the wife was too poor, but both believe that instills the value of things.
