Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I drive mine everyday. Being in Japan, I get many strange looks, but many more compliments. It is not unusual to have several people surrounding my Blazer trying to figure out what it is when I come out of stores. I wouldn't be caught dead driving my wife's Toyota.

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I drive my new to me 72 c-20 everyday for work. I drive about 100 to 150 miles a day and am getting now 12.8 mpg. I love having this truck. I have always wanted a full size classic truck. AND it is the same year that I was born so that's kinda cool. I traded my 95 Toyota Tacoma with 250,000 miles on it and have noooo regrets.

Oh yeah did I mention that my work pays for all my gas?

Still I try not to take advantage.

I drive mine every day! Too cold for the bike, the rag top is no good in the snow and the boat doesn't work to well on the street, so i love my 69 for any day rain, snow or sun

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I drive my 72 custom deluxe with a 383 and double pumper everyday. Of course its across town to school and then back across to work, but i love every minute of it. $20 a week in gas usually works out for me, including anything i do with my buddies.

Here's my daily driver. It's amazing to me how many people compliment me on it. It never got a second look when it was a LWB-all one color-brick red truck.

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I have driven my 71 everday for over 2 years. It's parked now awaiting a new steering gear, so I've been driving my wifes' f350. What a POS. I can hardly wait to fix mine. Days off start tomorrow, so by this weekend I should be back to driving a REAL truck!

That's the plan as soon as I get the interior back together. I bought my 71 to be my DD so the 05 Silverado has got to go!

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I drive mine every single day. except for in the summer on nice days when I ride the bike. I use ol' Lefty for hauling crap from house remodel, helping people move (close local friends so you are on your own LOL) and whatever else will fit in back. its my main mode of transportation. sometimes I think I was born 30 years too late, if ya know what I mean.

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

ARRGGGHH you guys are giving me fits. I want to drive my truck so bad.......I cant till next sunday when i go pick it up from my father inlaws house.
I made a trade that most my family thinks im nuts. But my father inlaw has said (find me a small truck and you can have old blu back). I traded him my 79 3/4 4x4 for the 67. The 67 will look alot nicer soon as i get it all 1 color and do some cleaning. Its been sitting pretty much for 6 years.

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

Driving the 1 ton daily at about 34 mile round trip to work. Neighbors like it too for getting gravel and wood to burn. 292 gets about 11 mpg.

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I don't drive mine everyday, but damn close to it. I've got to put some seat time in the Z71, don't want 'er to fall apart from neglect. My drive to work is only 15 miles round trip, so I can go a couple weeks on a full tank. I actually haven't noticed much of an increase in how much I spend on liquid gold either since I put the truck on the road a month ago. It has a 700R4, which is REALLY nice when flyin down the interstate. It gets A LOT of looks too

The Suburban is my DD. Thank God for a short commute... I love driving it though. I always get nominated to drive to lunch Nuthin cooler than a classic loaded with people and room/power to spare.

Re: Who drives there truck every day?

I take my daughter to school every day and then off to work. I by far have the oldest vehicle in the parking lot. I'm sure people think I'm nutz including my wife but I really don't care. Another thing I notice, people bag on me for driving something this old but they sure do ask me a lot of questions when their new car breaks

^ Yeah, I'm the "car guy" at work too. People ask me questions all the time too! Only difference is the guys at work think my truck is cool
