Re: 6L80 swaps
That's going to be one hell of a truck. Post a link to the build here, I really want to follow some of the info for this swap. I've seen a couple combos on ebay, but I just can't pull the trigger right now.

iv'e seen a few of these "kits" on the net..From bolt on adapters to output shaft swaps! What kinda of conversion kit did you purchase/where from? It appears by "taking it to a trans shop" - that maybe your "kit" changes the output shaft? ...Just trying to get more knowledge about these newer trans/transfer cases...So much conflicting information out there... >>> Ha - just got my account approved - now I see the kit your going with!... sounds like an easy choice... Would have loved to know what that flange spec'd out at.. Oh -well...if anyone else get the opportunity - would like to hear what they find out.. Thanks guys! |

Re: 6L80 swaps
Until they make a decently priced stand alone unit to control this trans and not do a LS swap this trans is a no go for most people. I don't think you can call it just a trans swap when it required a new engine to go with it.....

Just ordered this conversion kit to switch from 4WD to 2WD with a slip yoke. Thought I would share the link. $350 for the kit...

Re: 6L80 swaps
So I have a question. Drove a truck with that combo while back kinda remember a lag when hitting the throttle with towing a load.
Do this sound familiar? If so, would a custom tune on it bring about more responsive changes? Posing the question, yeah it may not matter. |
