Re: Project Economy Slowdown

It hasn't slowed my build down more. I have just been too busy with work, random things coming up on my car, the girlfriend, and working pit crew for my friend's dad on his 1991 BMW 325is.

Re: Project Economy Slowdown

Yep. My truck doesn't get driven anymore. Maybe once a month if that. Thinking about selling it.

Re: Project Economy Slowdown

Yep, the economy has hit us pretty hard. I was transferred from Houston to the DFW area not too long ago. While there was a "cost of living" increase for me, my wife still hasn't found a job teaching yet. None of the school districts where we live are hiring, and she's looking at getting an office job, at a pay cut if anything else. We are having to get rid of her Jeep to at least save on some bills.

What I thought I was going to do with my project has been pretty much put on hold. Of course it's taking another turn again because of the economy, but still, with parts prices rising, and fuel costs rising too, it appears that there is almost no end in sight.

Anyone need to buy any blood?

Re: Project Economy Slowdown

I have been restoring my Longhorn for over 8 years. I absolutely refuse to give it up or stop. Have thought about what I could do to ensure it fits into the ever changing world of gasoline vehicles, but haven't figured that one out yet. Yes, I have only driven my Longhorn 4 miles since I have owned it and towed it over 600 miles, but it really means allot to me. Parts are available and I love driving to go get them. My truck technically belongs to just about everyone here on the board because it has so much stuff from the fellow board members from over the years. I will never give up on here while I am able to turn a wrench. Cool Thread!!!!! I will still drive this thing even at 7 miles to the gallon.

Re: Project Economy Slowdown

Nope, the only thing that has slowed me down is time. My personal economy is doing great, but I can't keep a leash on my time! I guess if I quit going camping so much I might have more time!
