 This will allow you to directly bolt up of any of the Chevrolet style
automatics to your V6, the TH350, or the TH400, or any of the 700R4, the 4L60
and the 4L60E overdrives. With gas prices going ever higher, any and everything
you can do to increase mileage helps.

 Mine is identical to the one listed on E-bay and in excellent shape, but mine
also includes with it the later model engine side motor mount brackets that use
the less expensive and much easier to find Chevrolet interlocking style motor
mounts, which will prevent the engine from doing somersaults under the hood if
one should break.

 Just something to think about, but since converting to an automatic will
eliminate the 2 bell housing mounts and only adds one transmission mount, you're
going from a 4 point anchorage system to a 3 point, and the engine mounts are
the only thing keeping the engine upright under the hood. The original V6 motor
mounts are not up to task even if they are still in decent shape, once the
bonded rubber tears free from the metal on either side, the only thing keeping
the engine in place would be gravity. The interlocking Chevrolet motor mounts
would keep the engine in place even if the rubber did tear or break free from
the metal brackets. This would also prevent any kind of loss of throttle control
that could happen if the original style GMC motor mounts were used and failed.
Like I said, just something to think about.

I have my adapter set up on the for sale site here ... but I don't have the bars either ... Mine is still connected to the GMC V/6 , need to get it pulled ... But thank you A.T.RockDriller for the pictures , I used one of your pictures for reference ... Thanks ...

BTW....
I just edited my previous post...News Flash...!
The transmission end of the struts we are talking about are unique to the tranny.
Mine will only bolt up to the TH400 pan bolt arrangement.
Period.
As we know, the TH350 and the 700R4 have their own pan bolt pattern, and there is only one set of struts that will work for either of them.
So....since we know...or maybe we don't...GMC offered a standard 3 or 4 speed, or a Powerglide, or a TH400....and that's all they offered (save for the M/D and H/D Trucks)...then you won't find a set fer the TH350 & 700R4....unless they were custom fabbed.

Ok rockdriller, are you telling me I have the same adapter in my truck and that I can drop the hydramatic and slap in a th350 or th400 with no problems. Except for the ones I make for myself.lol

Well, Andy....Just in case I talked my way into a corner that I'm not aware of......I will restate the whole thing....fer clarity.

If you look at my thread..."Rockdrillers '63 K1000"....or whatever it is....and look closely at post #85....at the GMC automatic tranny adapter...I can guarantee that I could bolt up a TH350 or a TH700R4 or a 4160 series auto tranny onto our BB V-6's and the only "maybe" variable, other than driveline length or electrical hook-ups would be the two struts that we are talking about.
The tranny end of those struts would need to be modified to connect to the pan bolts.
That's it.
I hope that was clear. I can't swear ...not knowing exactly what you have in front of you....what is for sure a go or a no-go....
But look closely at my adaptor. If you have one of those, it will do what I said.
You may be okay running it without the struts....I'm getting the idea that some folks have and had no problems.

I just didn't know that hydromatic was another name for powerglide.
I just thought when you said hydromatic you were referring to the Turbo-Hydromatic family of trannys.

No I have the original hydramatic trany in mine. The indicator is N I4 I3 I2 R if that helps.

GMC used basically the same "Hydramatic" trans from 54-62(identical to the hydramatics used in the 54 era olds and caddies). not to be confused with a "Turbo-hydramatic"(350-400) from the mid 60's and up
this is what they looked like and were a cast iron case

hydramatic is not another name for a p/glide, though p/glides 62 and earlier were cast iron . 63 and up were aluminum in p/glide. they were a 2 speed
trans
your adaptor comes from a 66 and up v6 truck which mated up to a turbo-hydramatic th400. which is what you say what you have in your truck

So the 62 hydramatic adapaters are different then the 66 and up adapters.? So I need an adapter that came with a factory th400.? Just want to make sure before I buy. Thanks
