There is a company in OKC that sells those. They have some with the Freightliner fronts on them too. They look sweet!

I don`t think the $$ is that bad. It would be great as a +DD, with a Cummind, you could pull anything.

Was a guy in Edmond that had an International CXT...

Personally I don't like how the Ford bed doesn't line up with the cab.. the body lines aren't even there. They should have made their own bed too...

International that was the truck not the Freightliner. Yeah the place is right there at the I-40/I-44 Amarillo junction. They would just be cool to cruise around in. Wouldn't be practical, but when have I been practical.

Re: Big A$$ Truck!

I think the price of $9500 is not too bad. I just bought a 76 5 ton cab and chasis for a similar project. My boys want a monster truck and I want something I could drive on the road as well. I've always liked that snub nosed look. It would be more fun with more people so a crew cab is in order. I have a line on a few good donors.
My future plans include some 52" tires I have, 2.5 ton drive train and a cummins. Just gathering parts right now.

They are not that bad if trucks dont bother you in the first place. I drive this to work when its cold out cause I dont feel like waiting for my diesel car to warm up.

Re: Big A$$ Truck!

Hard to believe but I can pull like 12mpg unloaded. It only has a 350 in it but it does hurt when you are used to a diesel Mercedes that gets close to 40mpg.

Wow, That's two per better than my 74 (before I built it nasty) and 86 Van and only one under my 97.....

Here's the RIG my boss bought last year, Yeah the real deal !

He didn't have it but about 8 months, He had a man offer him 10k more than he paid for it and said "SOLD".

I did get a chance to drive it once, Even though it had the air ride seat I wouldn't want to drive it daily....

Re: Big A$$ Truck!

If you are going for a slammed look did you ever consider getting a c40-60 regular cab front end and grafting it on to a dually? I have a spare front end and have been looking at what it would take to put it on a regular frame a cab. Looks doable. If you need any pics of any particular area of a square cab let me know and I will take em for ya.

Re: Big A$$ Truck!

Ya actually that is how the idea came about, I saw that gold one and thought if they can put landrover headlight on it then I winder how hard it would be to put a c60 front end on a crewcab dually. Actually another member here built one but he took a regularcab c60 and cut it in half and then welded the rear section from a crewcab to it. He said that was easier becuz the front firewall is different which would be more difficult.

Re: Big A$$ Truck!

Yeah, the firewall sticks out a lot more on the big truck. Another thing to consider if you try to put a c60 cab on a C30 frame is that the C60 has a almost completely flat floor so you will have to make a trans tunnel for it. Thats why I figured it would be a crap shoot. Change the floor or change the firewall? If you change the firewall atleast you have a whole cab that fits on the frame and you dont have to weld on a rear passenger section.

This listing is for a one of a kind 1978 Chevrolet C65 Dually conversion, in the very rare crew cab version. It's a 2 ton truck that was shortened and made into a dually. It was in Arizona all it's life except for the past year here in Illinois, so is virtually rust free, and in very solid condition. The truck has both gooseneck, and very heavy duty bumper pull hitches. It has a current IL inspection, good thru march/april, and I currently have it licensed with "D" plates (12000 IB), although you can license it higher if you want to pull more (up to 26,000 lb if you want to stay under CDL). It has hydraulic brakes, so no CDL or air brake certification required to drive it. The marine 454 has around 13000 miles on it, and the chassis mileage is unknown. Runs and drives good, and I drove this home 1600+ miles from AZ last year without any trouble. I'm having to sell it to pay bills! It could use a little work, some interior updating, etc. Here's the specs:

1978 Chevy C65 Crew Cab (3+3) Dually -

Marine 454 V8, Edelbrock carb, dual exhaust, 5 speed manual transmission + 2-speed rear, 120 gallon long range fuel tank, custom made aluminum diamond tread running boards, heavy duty bumper pull & gooseneck hitches, 22.5 budd style wheels with stainless simulators. Arizona rust free truck! $9,500.00

Check out a full page of clickable pix of the truck here: http://bigasstrux.com/fouke/indyc65.html
That is a beautiful truck for sure. Certainly not 1 of a kind though. I have seen lots of them over the years. After having many large trucks with BB 's in them over the years I can verify the fuel cost for this unit would not be much fun. I would find it more favorable with diesel power.

Some I've seen before.

Re: Big A$$ Truck!

If it was a year from now, I'd probably be heading to IL to get the truck in the orig post. That is exactly what I want for a tow rig... of course, it'd get converted to diesel pronto but that 3+3 truck bed c50/c60 is what I want.
