Re: opinions on this color

It looks like a lighter shade than the sample piece from your first post of this thread, but that paint booth is brighter than heaven. I really want to see the rest of that truck wearing that blue dress. Lookin real good

CAJUN,

What are you going to do to the underneath of the fenders? Paint or undercoating? I did undercoating (under the entire truck) and then painted over it.

Are you painting it yourself? Even if your not, you have mad skills for a 19 y/o. Keep it up, these skills will make you more valuable later in life.

Re: opinions on this color

The color you pick depends on what you want your truck to look like when finished. I personally do not like modern colors on an old rod. It seems like a diamond in a goat's ass. But I am probably in the minority and it's your ride and your money. You need to like what it looks like not me. Good luck and keep the shiny side up!

the inside of all the fenders are sprayed in this thick sprayable seam sealer. Its like undercoating but its paintable and the texture is different. Under the running boards and cab and a little up the firewall is done in this stuff too.

the bed isnt done yet but Im just going to use regular undercoat on it.

I didnt paint any of the above myself. The stuff that got sprayed tonight I sprayed a little of it. Im really too nervous of a person to spray this stuff though. I worry I will mess it up too much to the point that I'll mess it something up. Actually, everything that was sprayed tonight was sprayed by one of my best friends whos only like 22 I think. So hes another young one that is reallly good. He's been a "painter" for like 6 months and a helper for over a year before that. He's really good though.

I'l have a bunch of pics soon.

well I agree to a certain degree, This truck started out as laying 'board on 16's with a turbo 292 6 cylinder and a muncie 4 speed. I was going to do the whole flat black/gloss red thing. But then I don't know what happened. I think I realized thats not who I really am. And the whole point of doing this is to express myself and who I am.

Re: opinions on this color

more....more.....more.....
I am lucky too. After paying the guy that painted my 63 he and I have become good friends. He has painted tons of stuff for me on my 2004 Duramax for free. He has also bailed me out several times with last minute paint fixes on my 63 and not charged me. I try to help him out by delivering a finished car for him when I can. It always looks cool pulling up to someones house with a lifted Duramax, custom painted, delivering a cool vehicle.

Nice looking paint job.
That chrome should really stand out against that colour.
And with the white interior ... WOW factor 10+

Cajun, That is your dads shop?????? WOW, lucky you. Stay there and take the business from your dad. Trying to start a new shop is a lot harder. You can take it over some day and make it your own.

Re: opinions on this color

I'd say with cajundragger being an M.E. student that he has big things planned in his mind for the future.

BTW Cajun, what's your estimated time till completion of this project? Any chance of seeing it one of these days at the only place to be on a Saturday night in Louisiana? (that's Tiger Stadium for all you non locals)

yeah, you can count on it being somewheres out there for sure. should be easy to spot as well, lol. if you dont spot the truck I'll be on my bike. '06 gsxr white/blue on blue wheels.

I'd take my Dad's business but he just dealers with fixing stock stuff and mechanical on stock stuff and everything. Just your average body/paint/mechanical shop that does excellent work. I want to do more on the custom side, which I know is harder to do.

cab is painted....

Re: opinions on this color

Yup! It's looking just like I thought it would....awesome! I noticed that there are no holes in those doors for the door handles and no hole in the cab for the fuel tank behind the seat. I'm guessing your planning on the shaved look. An assembly thread would be great.
