Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
I ended up paying him $3800, and I'm sure if I waited long enough I might have found a better deal, but then again, maybe not. The important thing is that it's what I wanted. And it's for the most part unmolested. And it grew up in the area that I grew up in. Besides, by me paying that much for it, it makes your guys trucks worth that much more, so I'm doing everybody a favor. You can thank me later.

It's what you wanted, you have the money and you rescued another one of our trucks. Assignment completed, well done. esll.

Well it looks like you scored your truck after all! Looks like a great driver in good shape. If you make this into a project you have a great starting point.

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
It'd probably be easier to find another wife than another truck like that one. !!

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
i just googled your block code numbers. correct me if i am wrong but the last two letters are (RM). i could not find that exact sufix but they do run in years. the R's start out in the 60's. RK is a 63 high performance car 327. the RP is a 64 corvette 250hp. i bet yours since its in between and has those covers is either a 63 or 64 corvette engine. bet thats worth some coin. might make that pickup a steal after all.

I must be married to your wifes sister. They all get over it eventually.

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
That's a deal for the money,
That's the first time I've ever seen AIR pump and crankcase vent listed as options on a 67 or any other year for that matter.

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
When you get it done she will probly be the one that wants to driv it. I have a gt40 replica car that ive been building for years and when I first brought it home my fife wanted to kill me. but the first time she drove it she changed her mind.

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
I think I would do some major research on that motor. for some reason those valve covers and the stamping # starting with a "FI" makes me curious.

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
Not a Vette block. Nice Vette valve covers though. The covers are earlier then 67 as they had a hairline crack in the factory mould that they kept using. Was visable on pass. side, ran through the o in the Corvette script.

Re: well, I got my wife mad - again
That is a great looking truck with lots of potential. Once you get it where you want it she'll probably never let you get rid of it. The heads look like they have the offset valve cover fasteners. If so they are from a 55 or 56. I can't read the code very well but a single "F" is for a 55 265 Power glide car. Didn't see FI or FII on the listing. Here's a link that might help. http://www.nastyz28.com/sbchevy/sblock.html#ecode
