Thanks Jim. They are fun drivers. And I REALLY want to check out your truck!

Re: 56 BelAir LS swap quick look
Doug, I'm going to Ohio next week to pick up a company truck. I haven't decided what route I'm taking on the way back, but if I come back on I-70 I might just swing by your place.

Re: 56 BelAir LS swap quick look
That green Chevy really is a nice ride! I always loved the '56es, and was close
to buying one, before I settled on my '57 Pontiac. Oh my, I really did an old timey engine swap when I swapped a TPI engine into my 1957 Chieftain, didn't I? In all honesty, I was looking for an LS1, but in 2010 the cost was too much. I found a 1987 Pontiac TransAm GTA, which donated the vital organs, a 350 TPI and the TH700r4 transmission. I still own the car, and it's had some 30,000 miles on the clock with the injected engine providing nice mileage. 42% increase in mpg, but then the old mill was in pretty bad shape |

Thanks Flatbed. The 56 is still a very fun driver. Your TPI swap looks good!

Re: 56 BelAir LS swap quick look
It was time for some brake detailing and some new shoes. This car still performs well and took us on HRPT this year. The only thing I’ve needed to do on the 56 is regular maintenance. Everything works really well.

Re: 56 BelAir LS swap quick look
Our Grandson helped with replacing the wheel studs. He is the little guy on page one standing next to the 56.

The 56 is still dry underneath and has no leaks.
