Re: Hello from Texas!
gidday mate-you have a great looking truck-i really like the wheels.
interested to know what is under the canopy on the back--if its called a custom camper, has it got beds and things or is it just a bare canopy over the deck area?? see alot of these on here and have never seen whats under there and everyone seems to take them off and get rid of them cheers mark

An empty shell
Quote:
The shell covering the bed is just that. A shell. I'll be taking it off soon. I don't like the looks of it at all. It is called a "Custom Camper" because of options and accessories that improved this truck's performance specifically for a bed mounted camper. The PO of this truck had a bed mounted camper in it and towed his boat on all the family vacations. Thank you!

Re: Hello from Texas!
Today I replaced the radiator, belts, hoses and relocated the XMSN cooler. I took the bed shell off too. Looks much better.
I'm not too pleased with the replacement radiator I got from Advance Auto. It fit OK but it is much thinner than the original. I did get the four core, but it just looks too thin and not HD. I hope it'll be heavy duty enough for towing in the summer heat of Texas. I tow vintage trailers up to 7,000 lbs. I would also like to get a larger XMSN pan with a temp bung so I can get a XMSN temp gauge installed. I found this one from Derale on Summit Summit.http://static.summitracing.com/globa...er-14200_w.jpg http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-14200/?rtype=10 Any other options out there? Thanks again for all the thumbs up and I'm happy to be a part of the ol' C-20 crowd!

Welcome from cowtown aka Ft Worth
If you plan on towing the tranny temp guage may be helpful. be sure to add a trans cooler also.

It has an external cooler. I plan to add the temp gauge, but I'm not sure if the deep pans will clear the XMSN crossmember. Looks kinda tight.

Thanks! I have learned a bunch already. So here are the Topless pics! I got the new (used) tool box compartment door I purchased here on the forum today. It'll need some work, but so does the rest of the truck! Tomorrow morning I'll be hooking on to our Airstream for the first time. We're taking it a short drive to the lake to go camping with our WBCCI Unit. I'll post some pics of her all hooked up tomorrow.

Towing duty
Here is a pic of Jenny hitched up to Abby at our campsite this weekend.
She is a wonderful tow vehicle. On the way back, I forgot to hook up the trailer cable. I drove back home with no trailer brakes and didn't even notice. I made sure the fridge was stocked with the essentials.

Re: Hello from Texas!
You must have been the envy of the campground. What a sweet setup you have. Glad to see you got the stowage door, and at a good price too.
Jenny and Abby make a great addition to our forum, congrats again. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Hello from Texas!
Welcome from Alabama. After many 63-70 c10's I finally found the keeper; a 72 CC. You have a great looking truck! The C20 is sure hard to beat and they are a work horse! Congrats!

Long time update
Wow! I haven't been on here in months! Thanks for the compliments!
Since my last post, some things have happened with Jenny. New Goodwrench crate motor. Unfortunately, the new motor was leaking from the rear of the oil pan. I took it back to the Chevy dealer for a warranty repair. It is still leaking. New brake master cylinder and booster. A nice cowboy campout with the Lonestar Vintage Airstream Club at LBJ National Grasslands near Decatur. Next week, I'm taking the truck back to the Chevy dealer for try number two on the oil pan leak.
