Ah. That explains why it took a half inch drive breaker bar to get mine loose.

Is there a reason why the LMC kit doesn't include nuts for the rear bolts?

WOW! Brought back one of my old threads from 2006!

Yes, from the factory, the front bolts got one little zap with a welder down the line to lock the bolt in place so when the cab was dropped on the frame the guy putting the bottom nut on didn't have to hold the head of the bolt.

I've seen a lot of trucks and a lot of pics and read a lot of comments on this over the years and how this was done varied from plant to plant and even person to person. Some people have reported great big huge booger welds, some got tiny little tacks, and even others had that guy that sucked at his job and just didn't do it at all. The reason it's a real PIA is that the bolt is down in it's own little pocket and it's difficult to get any kind of cutting tool in there to break the weld.

The rear bolt for the cab mounts is located inside a caged nut inside the cab, I guess the makers of the kits assume that bolt is a PIA to get out of the metal cage and typically are in good condition because they're been inside the cab their whole life.
