Re: Finally!!
Thats great. I had your truck on my screensaver for me to work twards that for mine. My wife wants the scoop through the hood also so I'm saving for a blower. Could be a while so if you want to send me yours until mine comes in????

Re: Finally!!
Wow! That motor kicks ass!
Looks like a blower with a small block attached to it! What transmission are you going to run behind it? Also, can you post a scan of the dyno sheet?

I'm running a Rossler built Turbo 400 right now and when it blows I will upgrade to Rossler's TH210 - Bulletproof!! Once I get the paperwork package from the builder , I will post dyno sheets. Here's a shot with the scoop sitting on it ! Last edited by QWYKTRUK; 06-15-2008 at 10:33 AM. Reason: added photo |

Re: Finally!!
Yes, it is alot of blower. I also had The Blower Shop add 18 point Teflon stripping. The blower is so effecient, that there is a lot more left in the motor set-up. I just need to get bigger heads. Maybe next year.

Re: Finally!!
Great looking scoop! I guess with 815 ft-lbs you don't really need a lot of gears.
Is your crank snout regular SBC, or is it BBC to support the blower drive? Oh, and you forgot the water pump.... I do love an over-the-top engine.

The crank is a Callies Magnum XL angle lite journals- hardened 4340 - SBC snout dual keyed. I didn't forget the w/pump, still deciding on whether to go with a belt driven or elec . The rear gears are 4:10's and I also have a set of 4:30's As for over the top-I could fill this page with the "goodies" inside and on this motor. P/M me if you want more. |

Re: Finally!!
Wow, now that is first class all the way.
Looking at all the Az trucks in this section.... I think I've figured it out about us AZ boys and the way we build these 60-66 trucks. Were in a HURRY to get where were going (in hopes it will be cooler on the other side of town!!! <grin>)

Oh, and nice crank. Are you going to run the whole rig on a chassis dyno locally when you get it all together? Should lay down some pretty impressive numbers.

Thanks Marv! I looked at your truck too and it is SWEET! I've always liked the re/white /yellow paint scheme. Us old guys have to uphold the old hotrod look. You know as well as I do that the other side of town is just as hot.. we just create a breeze on the way! Do you ever bring your truck down to Firebird? TTYL, JOhn |

Re: Finally!!
John, that's a damn stout small block! You need to get the HP up to 854 so you're making 2 hp/ci
What's the static CR? (I see you were running 118 fuel for the pull). Thanks for the dyno sheet, but now you have me wondering if 4600 is actually your real torque peak (given that that is where the pull started).
