looking at the pix in the mega post it looks from the depth of the quary and the orientation of the truck on explosion that it may be a different truck that was destroyed. Maybe it is possible that they air bag landed the truck, and then blew up another with white spoke wheels? Seems like a lot of work for an at the time cheap truck for a high budget (Bill Murray)movie though.

here is a pic of the truck that inspired tow mater it's call tow tater and is in galena kansas on the old route 66 i seen it while we were traveling the route 66 on vac. a few weeks ago
