That's good if you already cut the rear stops off because they would get in the way. Your local auto parts store should sell some bump stops. Pep Boys has them in the HELP section. You would need to drill a hole in the frame just above the rear end on each side and bolt it in. Or don't run them at all. I didnt have any bump stops on in this picture and I never hit the frame. Just got to slow down for bumps. LOL. This is how it sits now. Had to notch the frame and add bump stops so the rearend doesnt hit the bed. this is with 9 inches in the back and 6.5 in the front.

You could always leave the front alone and lower the rear a bit to level it out. Rearrange your leaf springs to where the overload spring sits on top. That'll give you 2-3" in the rear

im sitting on about a 6 inch drop all the way around with absolutely no body mods straight suspension. i dont bottom out my rear end at all. i have rubbed my front inner fenders liek twice on a road i was unfamiliar with but other than that its not too bad

this is mine...4.5/6 drop...cut springs in front and flip brackets in rear with Gabriel adjustable air shocks. front sits a little lower now since I took these pics...installed smaller tires in front so it has a slight rake to it..looks pretty kool

My truck has currently has a 2.5" spindles up front and shackle and hangers out back for 4". I would like to lower the rear 1" more. What would be the least expensive way? And if I were to would I have to lower the front more?
My truck is an 82 GMC swb.

mines lowered now. I used Keiths way ( which I still need to do a write up on). Its got a coil and a half off the stock springs up front, and a hanger relocation in the back. Total cost was around 10 bucks for the new grade 8 bolts for the rear, a soda, and candy bar at the hardware store. I did put on new shocks all the way around.That was about 130 bucks. Im working on all new bushings, and Im not sure what that total cost would be. The extras to complete a job add up too, but if your looking for just the drop on the cheap, mines about as simple as it gets.

xs-style's drop (above) is exactly what I would do for a budget drop that would still ride OK.
If you have a couple hundred then get the drop spindles for sure.
I would caution you though about using drop spindles AND drop (or cut) springs over 2 inch drop. (springs that is)
I found out the hard way with my 3" drop spindles and DJM 3" drop springs running a 15 inch tire my lower control arms made contact with one of those 1 inch thick iron plates they put over trenching on the highway. When I saw the bump I instinctively hit my brakes causing the front to dive....well it wasn't pretty. Bent frame, totalled truck.
Broke that habit now I hit the gas over bumps.
My point is that combo lowers control arms very close to ground. I know most all you guys know this already. This is ment for the new guy
