I had a Honda MR50 at the age of 5. The neighbor across the street from us in LA worked for Honda. He would bring trailerloads out to the desert for all to ride. We moved to the Oregon coast right by the sand dunes when I was in high school so I got a 200X. It was re-jetted, new sprockets and a Bill's pipe. Very fast for a 200X. I sold that in College. Now I ride a $2500 full suspension mountain bike. Someday, I'd like to get a bike or a wheeler again...

I really miss riding. When the finances allow I'll be back on 2 wheels. My shoulder still isn't right from my 1st accident but I still miss a bike on warm summer nights!
Full dress Honda + wet grass + excessive speed + BIG apple tree = permanent ouch

I ride also,

I ride a 02` Honda 400ex

mostly ride tracks, but some times hit the trails and hills. It makes it through alot except for the giant roots left over from the grizzlies. But the quad reall comes to life on dirt at 50mph+

Here's a pic of my ride. I live in SoCal where the riding is unprecedented. I'll post some "big air" pics when I can find them. I've been riding since I was 4, so it's been a huge part of my life for a long time. Most of my riding consists of racing, but I've gotten so many of my friends into the sport, I'm gonna have to start free riding alot more. I just recently tore my achilles tendon when I landed a jump too hard out in Glamis. So, unfortunately, I won't be able to ride for another 9 months. There are alot of local tracks that I race regularly here in SoCal. I also do Hare Scrambles and ride the Mammoth Motocross every year. My favorite tracks to ride out here are Glen Helen and Perris Raceway. Aside from all of the injuries one can sustain in this sport, there is nothing like the smell of race gas and the rush you get when hitting the face of a 70 foot triple. I will ride 'til I can't ride any more.

My son is the third kid whos had this thing. The gas tank is rusty and it needs a new chain. The motor looks to be the same one that Honda put in their trail 70s back in the day.
Anyway, he digs it.

This photo is from an old collection my daughter bought at a garage sale. the date is 1954, this looks like a Harley K model, 45 cubic inch much like the later Sportster. He's not getting a big jump, but back then you rode what ever you had on trails. Can you imagine guys running their new Harleys like this? Slightly smaller bikes like Matchless, BSA etc were considered real motocross machines ,weighing around 320 lbs.

"I keep thinking it was a 350cc though? Too many years to remember though lol"

it probably was a 350x , honda made a 250r and a 350x , the 250 being a crazy fast 2 stroke, outta the box top end 90 mph i think?? and the 350x(the fourstroke) somewhere around 75
www.3wheeler.org is a wonderful site for trike lovers, i use to own an 83 honda 200 before i bought my truck, i loved that thing to death, i personally prefer trikes over quads, too bad the lack of common sense killed them :-/.........
