Re: 61 Crewcab... HOLY COW!!!!

Yeah i thought it was pretty neat... I know nothing about it other than it was kinda behind a gas station with some other junked out larger trucks... mostly fords and IH's.... just happened to have a camera on me and took a few pics.... This was one of the few that I had ever seen that looked "right" as far as the rear doors go... the VIN tag started with "61 112" so im thinkin that is was a modified short wheel base chassis, and/or with a short bed ont he back similar to what's popular today... Im gonna try to get back dwon there to get more info on it, and money and space is tight for me right now so Ill post what I find in hopes someone could rescue it... There is a good chance I may have been seriously trespassing, so we'll see what happens....

Why must all the good finds be so far away? Definitely must be saved.

Now that I think about it, I could swear that I saw a multi-door suburban as part of someones private collection. It had something like 6 doors on one side.

Re: 61 Crewcab... HOLY COW!!!!

Per the 1966 Silver Book, Stageway Coaches Inc. of Fort Smith, AR, Automotive Industries Incorporated of Owendale, MI and Crown Steel Products Co of Orrville, OH, were all manufacturers that did the crew cab conversion on the 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks.
