Re: Got a new truck

There not great so i will get a pic tomarrow, and yes my dads friend has some weird storage places ,but hes pretty cool. And yes we used a cherry picker to put it in the truck. Its from a 79 chevy dump truck or something the lug nuts are 1in and it was in the truck at 10:30 and then we helped put some stuff away got home at around 12. I ate went to sleep and woke up at 6 in the morning to drop it off at my uncles shop. Worked most the day on my trucks. Found out it has 4.88s, found that by dividing 39 by 8 found it came to 4.875 which rounded comes to 4.88s.

Re: Got a new truck

4.88s should be good for offroad only and eventually 44s, the only gears i could run is 5.13s or 6.27s if they make them for the 60 and 14b. If i find my gearing not to be low enough when i switch to a th350 i will build a 203/205. I found that 4.10s and 35s and th350/203 in low and 1st was great offroad but could spin them pretty good when needed how i broke it and could do about 75-80 on the highway reving it out.

Air shocks 18in of travel in rear with a 4 link and the front stock 52s and and shackles to raise a little if need the and the rear shackle will be longer to push the front end front a little.

Re: Got a new truck

Its junk, i would take a pic of my rockers but there mainly gone and the hole in the roof, but its because i get mad when i don't have a release so i was paintballing every weekend spend 2000+ on guns, tanks hoppers, cloths, and around maybe a lot more than 4-5000 on the playing in the place on balls and air fees and air fees, then me and my dad found that during the winter we couldn't play so we decided to go wheeling more then we just got my first truck i broke it then we got the tow fee and then we decided to get another truck for offfroading only and use the other as a tow rig and they're both coming together at the same time. Which forces me to get as much done as possible and my dads friends are going a lot more and saying that i'm building it wrong and the axles will just sink but I'm going to do my best to prove them wrong. And the summer is almost over then i won't be at my uncles shop as much then i won't get much done except wheeling and fixing what gets broke.

Re: Got a new truck

I cut something for the clutch down shorten it 1 3/4 " and had it welded back together and put it on and the tabs are in the wrong place, so monday im cutting a tab off and going to have it welded on. And My uncle,His worker and me are going to start on the cage, and the rear 4 link, near the end of the week i think. Because not much before its running. I learned how to media blast so i was blasting a few think i was puting on and painting them black. Pics in a little.

Re: Got a new truck

in total i have spend 960 for this truck. And yes everyone i know thinks its trash but a few people. i feel why get something nice just to mess up, sure it was a lot for what it was but i think its worth the experince. If i got something nicer i wouldn't be able to learn some of the stuff, and wouldn't apperciate as much, because i didnt know what when into building it.

And yes i learned well sort of i didn't hit the bog i went on a few trails crack the case amd some other stuff but i fixed most of it still need the d-line and new perchs but thats what i'm doing monday. Then next weekend since i don't think this will be done, going to help pick up some trash in hollister then spend the rest of the day wheeling. My dads barrowing his boss's trailer just in case.

Not what i would have done but hey to each there own. your truck should make for quite the capible rig when complete.

Re: Got a new truck

nice truck i see many people think that i should do as much to it but i figure do everything then change what i don't like. the axles will be last i don't plan on running them yet. I priced the leaf springs and found they're about 200+ea for the proper leafs for my trucks thats wholesale price. Fox airshocks will end up being 230ea if i don't get them for wholesale. And the labor for the linking and cage will be free. The i would like to show up jeeps.

I'm only linking the rear and the front will come later if it gets done. The 44s if i get them i'm running in the muddy times only because the tag that comes with them.

And i'm going to tow no matter what so i think i might just make it as best as possibe with the lease money as possible. If i get the leafs then i find i don't flex i would like then im out of the springs cost
