Re: cup holder
I decided to take the task on myself as the guy that posted installed his hasnt answered back on how. If the adapter bracket works I will post up about it. The prototype has worked but he is now dialing it in. I will post up picks once done and if someone wants one made a link to it.

Re: cup holder
I havent forgotten I have the bracket with me now and will be installing and taking photos tomorrow. He made the bracket to install in the origianl ash tray bracket without destroying it. So if you decide to go back to your ash tray you can. I am excited to get it installed so I can use it. I have a video he gave me of the cup holder sliding in and out of the bracket on my iPhone but I havent figured out o how to switch the Apple video to one I can upload here or I would have posted it today as well. I will be posting up pics tomorrow

Re: cup holder
Ok so we had a couple changes to the bracket so its not 100% but heres photos of everything. Ok he designed this so you can go back to your stock ash tray if you want. The only mod to the ash tray bracket is you have to straighten out the small flange at the back of the ash tray. The bracket will attach to the original ash tray bracket by one #8 screw so there will be one small hole you will have to drill. You will see where in the photos. The nut drops into a hex hole made for it in the cup holder bracket. I had to do some moving around of my stereo wires otherwise it went right in. The face plate will have to be removed from the ash tray by drilling out the two rivets. I did this by drilling away the rivet from inside the ash tray. The face plate will attach to an adpater that goes on to the cup holder. The adapter for the cup holder is what he is redesigning. If you have any questions as I am sure I left something out let me know. The photos show everything but the face plate adapter as hes working on it now and hopes to have it to me by Weds. Sorry I didnt get this up over the weekend as I said I would do. We were figuring out the changes that need made and I forgot to post.

Re: cup holder
Once the face plate adapter is done it will look like the ash tray is still there when closed.

Re: cup holder
So I'm curious if it will hit the ac duct hoses behind the dash because it sticks out so far from the back? I have a 67 ash tray so it may be a bit different.

Re: cup holder
Hey guys,
I picked up one of these from LS Fabrication in Canada. It bolts right the the base of where the hold down screws are on our AC/Defrost units mount. It may vibrate a tad, but it's never let me or my drinks down. https://lsfab.com/67-72-gmc-chevy-c1...ck-cup-holder/
