Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride
I have also began my very slow process of tearing down and marking everything on the 99 silverado harness, so I can remove the engine, question.. i know i will need the brake light switch for the torque converter control and i will also get the harness loose for it are there any other things that i will need as far as stuff not directly connected to the engine?

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride
im hoping for over 400hp, then once i get the money in a couple years i plan to run twin turbos probably have the capability of 700hp? but i would have a 'low boost' setting so i can drive around town and not beat it too much, but when i go to the strip and want to beat my buddies fbody i can turn it up lol, anyways yes I hope with the big cam heads headers ls6 intake and CAI will be able to let me scoot around pretty good for now

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride
lol just so you know ol blue I did get out and work on the truck, but didnt turn a wrench that night lol just unplugged all the harness, fast forward to this past weekend... I removed the rest of the harness from the engine, unbolted trans, and TC, removed A/C compressor, intake, exhaust manifolds, PS lines, and all but two of the engine mount bolts, tonight I will have about 2 hrs, so fingers crossed I will have the engine on the engine stand!!

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride
well I have had her in the shop a few times, when we first got together she loved it, at least it seemed that way, then the longer were together the less interested she has gotten, but then she talks about wanting to go out in it or asks about it not being done yet... she hasnt even seen it since I put it away 3.5/4 months ago

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride
cant get the pics to send from my phone email, to my other email... when i get them to work i will post, just a pic of the "new" heads, and the engine as of last night, tonight i go the engine out.. after breaking the top most bolt in my bellhousing (grrrrrr) thought i had all the bolts out... anyways got it out and remembered i need metric bolts to hold the engine to the stand... so i put it on the front pig where it will sit for now 3 days..... i have valentines day alone... joy..... so i will get the engine on the stand then...

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride
Oh thats easy, when I start making progress. So far no sense cause I'm still gathering the parts. I've taken pics of what I've done but I'll start a thread when the ball starts to roll.
