Re: 64 weekend cruiser

Well I got the truck running. backed it out of the shop so I could do some cleaning. Im real happy with the motor. It starts easy, and sounds good. Now to get the rest of the painting done so I can get it together and take it for a drive.

This is about as good as I got. Just went to back of front cross member and teed to both fronts, and ran across bottom of cross member and down right side inner frame to the rear hose.

Re: 64 weekend cruiser

getting a little closer. its been almost a year since I bought this truck. hopefully I will get to drive it this summer. I knew there was rust on the bottom of the fenders and found they have been patched with fiberglass by the PO. We got that all cut out and new metal welded in. should be able to paint the fenders before long.

Re: 64 weekend cruiser

Started on the bed. the boards were completely rotton and gone. just took my angle grinder with a cutting wheel and sniped all the bolts on the metal strips. had been dreading that job, and it only took about 20 minutes...LOL
The bed is in great shap. No rust at all and only two small quarter sized dents where I suppose a rock popped up and hit it. I got the sides sanded and primed, still need to do inside and block and prime the sides again. hopeing to get painted this week while on vacation.

Re: 64 weekend cruiser

Hadn't checked in for awhile.

For painting in a dirty old shop it came out really nice.

What type of paint and gun did you use?
