Re: 3/4 ton rear diff help

Ok now I got the cover off the 67 diff that's receiving the doner axle. Fluid was kinda milky and a regular brown color. Water intrusion?. I don't know where it could've come from but the truck sat for almost 15 years. .
The difference are c60 different. The doner 70 gmc a 3:54 amd my 67 diff is a 4:10. Will the doner axle work?

Re: 3/4 ton rear diff help

I'd check axle total width and mounting locations. There are differences over the years, but I'm not on top of what they are. Some are wider than others. We ought to have a database like a Hollander's for the interchangeable stuff. If both are leaf spring diffs, the spacing would be easy to check, for instance.
