Two gauges are not needed. The switch that controls the fuel valve for the tank, also sends power to the proper quanity gauge. It reads the proper tank level on the one gauge. I have an original unit from a C-40 dump truck. I swapped my Vac gauge for a quartz clock. This unit has been working perfect for about 7 years now. Here is an old picture. I like that new set-up. I will keep that in mind! I might even buy one of those for my 85!

Thats another reason I did this. I had to keep my cluster because It is electronic pickup for my speedometer for the lsx swap. I did not want to loose my clock for a fuel guage.

Re: combo Tach/Fuel gauge cluster

This is what I wound up doing. Its not perfect or clean yet and the white face gauges are not for some but I like it. For some reason the autometer gauges turned our dark in the picture but they are visible when in the truck. I have been asked before and if you are wondering yes that is the correct mileage for my truck all 436,050 miles of it.

Re: combo Tach/Fuel gauge cluster

I like that setup Insiduous. I take it you ported over all the guages since I see what looks like an oil pressure guage peeking out the side there.

Hopefully without crossing the support/nonsupport line, is the cluster that you will be offering a complete drop in, or individual drop in guages like the one in the original post?

Alex.

Re: combo Tach/Fuel gauge cluster

if you go to bright LED's they will kinda hotspot the gauges makeing some areas brighter than other areas, the wide angle kinda lowers that effect a littlebit but are not as good as strip LED's and not as bright
