Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Sold them along with nearly every other part I didn't need for the project. If you search my threads started you will find the for sale stuff back in April/May.
I think I have the headliner Bows still, (sold the cardboard headliner) the front bumper that has a very small dent, and the power brake booster/master cylinder. This board was amazing at helping recapture most of my costs on the Suburban. I am thrilled knowing my Suburban's parts will live on in other folks' projects.

Wow! You've really cut that thing up! Can't wait to see it come together. I've thought of doing the same thing myself many times.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Why didn't you just use the suburban frame and drivetrain? Going for a newer chassis and drivetrain? Also, truck cab roofs are a double layer, what are your plans for this one?

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Roof will be single layer like the burb with a stiffener in the middle. I have not been able to come up with a headliner option though. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Wow! I think you have used the nicest parts trucks I have ever seen. Since I am a HUGE suburban man it was hard to see such a nice burb get sliced up; however it looks like you are going to make one heck of a ride. I cant wait to see more. Oh yeah. I also scrolled thru 5 pages of your suburban parts thread only to see the part I needed was finally sold! Where the heck was I when you had that gold mine of a suburban parts thread going on?

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Looking great!! Im am very jeleous as I want a 3 or 4 door 67 so bad, but now that I moved to Mountain Home, I no longer have a shop. Probably a good thing, or else I would have alreadt stripped mine back down to try and extend the cab. I will be watching this one!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Very nice project! I think it is awesome and would like to do this some day. I'm liking the suburban body instead of the 2 cab idea after seeing how you did the roof. Thanks!

There it is again! I want more pictures of that green burb but I can only find one or two mag shots. Does ANYONE know where there are more lurking?

Here's a real beauty.
Not really sure how you could navigate or park in the mall parking lot.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I good upholstery shop can make you a headliner once you get all done with the chop and dice. I have used the same upholstery shop here in Vacaville and they deal with all kinds of hot rods.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Have you ever seen the advertisement for those things back it the day? I guess they made them out of two cabs and stretched the frame. So you'd bring in your brand new truck and they'd cut it up and make one of those. I think they were made for mining and logging; if I remember correctly. I think it might be kinda cool to find and buy one like that.

You hit the nail on the head. God has certainly blessed me with the visualization gift. I build stuff in my head everyday in my work as a custom home builder.
