Re: Part Suggestions

I'd like to see aftermarket parts that FIT. I'd be willing to pay more for something that was a direct bolt on instead of spending hours modifying a $300 part.

Re: Part Suggestions

Since this thread is up, I'll do a baby hijacking. On the grille topic. LMC offer's a $300 aluminum and a $600 OE aluminum. Are there any fit issue's with the cheaper of the two?

Re: Part Suggestions

I would like to see a shortened steering column with the modification for the P/N safety switch and ready to paint and install. I know it would save me knuckles and frustration.

Re: Part Suggestions

Look at this site. The chrome paint is expensive, but i saw it in person. You can't tell it's paint.

Re: Part Suggestions

I seen on the speed channel on the Chop Cut Rebuild show there is a kit that lets you make your own lens. You would make a reverse form from your original and then mix up this liquid and pour it in.It comes out looking factory.
If I had time I'd start making them but I don't so I'll pass my idea along.

Re: Part Suggestions

Now this thread is becomeing what I intended it to be. Ideas for custom parts, parts that need to be reproduced and improvements to existing or original parts.

67cr I agree if it dont fit why sell it. Ream a bolt hole here and there is one thing but have to cut weld and hammer a new part to fit is another.

Idaho Outlaw, from what I have heard no problems with the oe or repop aluminum grills other than maybe a little grinding on the very bottom, and from what I have read on here that is rare.

Timcos, great idea. I know the stock ones seem to sit to close to me to. Maybe it is cause I am a big guy, over 250 lbs, but still it could have beeen put closer to the dash.

kbs71, I have heard of that paint before and seen it used on some car shows to. Thanks for the link for it. Never really knew who made it and was afraid to ask the paint store for fear of the $$$$.

Destro, I will have to keep a look out for that episode as that is a pretty good idea. I may have to do that. I was hoping since a few sets of the tooling for the cargo light lens exist and are reproduced that they would make a run with the plastic they use for the tail light lenses instead of the clear plastic.

Thanks guys and keep the suggestions and coments coming. Maybe some of the vendors and suppliers will read this and help us out.
