My original comment may have not been clear... we're saying the same thing. On the trucks, you hit even faster if you have a wood bed.

Re: kp components weld in step notch

I dont mind cutting a hole in the body for clearance, I was jsut wondering if you could use this big of a notch if the bags are mounted in the stock location. I dont want to put in a big notch if the smaller one will be sufficient.

Re: kp components weld in step notch

I got it and will be getting back to you on that. Not going to be a problem.

Also talked to Tom71 today on the phone. Killer guy who is totally into the truck as we all are, and was exicted to hear and trade stories with me. Only draw back was he made me get back to work and stop talking C10 projects ... hahahaha Thanks Tom.

Re: kp components weld in step notch

sweet572, i was mocking mine up this morning and it lloks to me like you would have to weld in the out side piece first then cut out the cross member where the shocks mount up , i would use a good air hammer and chisel them out , then weld in the the inner part of the notch and the top section ,(mine looks like it is gonna have to be trimmed to fit ) , then cut out the notch section of the frame . i had the ccp notch in and its not low enough for me , the cross member that mounts the shocks is gonna hit the diff any way , so in my opinion youre better off getting rid of it , its a bit more work but worth it. tom

It also has our Under the Bed floor kit installed off the front of the axle tube to locate the airbags. If you have any questions about the truck, or parts used, please feel free to post them here. Or you can PM me and I will get the information over to you.

can anyone tell me if those are the stock trailing arms in this pic? Looks like they kept the trailing arms, and just added a notch with bags, and relocated the shocks, and also put in the panhard bar? is that right. I want a setup like that and need to find out what to order ASAP

Re: kp components weld in step notch

Will these notches work with the ECE super track bar kit. I have this kit and it mounts the track bar to like the back of the trailing arm, by the U-bolts??

I really want to order KP's notch, but I need know if it will work. Or can someone close-up pic of the passenger side with the truck laid out?

Thanks guys,
Ryan

PS>in two weeks I get off for spring break and I'm laying out the truck> So quick help is appreciated.

Re: kp components weld in step notch

bagd72 , give clint a call his info is in this thread hes way cool and will answer any questions you have , i havent installed mine yet but the way it looked to me was that i would have to remove the cross memeber and track bar mount and re attach it (the track bar mount ) to the same location after the notch was installed . tom

Re: kp components weld in step notch

i used this exact notch and it was pretty straight forward ...i talked to clint for a long time and he was super nice and informative......i used the deluxe trac bar and it barely misses...but on my truck i swapped the rear end out for a 5x5 gm 10 bolt and wen i welded on the trailing arm perches i moved them each in like 1.5 to 2 inches (cant remember exactly) to keep the trailing arms from interfering with the frame which caused me to have to section the trac bar and it worked perfect.....i also used the same brackets as the truck clint did (black one) which is actually the same truck as the orange one...as well at 2" blocks....this put me like 2-3" from laying out in the back on a 29 inch tire.....i can email pics if you guys want..... pm me

looks like you are headed in the right direction. Are you going to use the stock trailing arms?
