Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
If it all goes well I should have the truck back real soon.I am reassembling the new heads and all the accessories to my motor by the end of this week. Then the rebuild of the truck will start, I am going to do the inside of the cab first and work my way out. I will continue to share picts. Here is the progress so far on the firewall, antenna hole and inside of the cab. Enjoy..

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
I have had a couple of hours free at nite to continue building the sb "400" while the truck is getting painted. We went ahead and installed the double timing chain, billett timing cover, torque the heads, lifters, push rods, roller rocker arms, intake manifold. We put the valve covers, carburator and air cleaner to just get a visual it is looking a hell of alot better. I am still waiting for doug thorley headers from nick which should be here this week. Once the headers get here I will be firing this bad boy up. I think the motor will be finished by friday nite..

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
we are thinking somewhere in the high 4's, not sure yet if I am going to get it dynoed or not, I am more into tuning it once it is in the truck then go from there. Based on the combination we have it should produce it for sure.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
Just went by the body shop today to drop off the new battery box, vertical supports, glove box door, glove box hinge, ash tray, accelerator pedal, I am getting anxious as all I can do is very much finished till I get the truck back in my shop. I took some more picts of the progress. I received my doug thorley headers today.
Patience is a virtue, I wish first of all that I had extra time to learn how to weld, paint and do bodywork. I totally dislike the fact of having to wait on someone else. The body shop owner is a good friend of mine for over twenty years and is only doing my truck because of that. He tells me that he wants it out more than I want it back, we will see.
