WOW! That truck is lookin good in the neighborhood! I am now not using the 51 as I have come across a 48 five window. It will be a long time before I can even start on mine.. Keep up the good work.

I have to go the s-10 route...more affordable for me...

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

Oh I see your using bags. It looks good. I am going the coilover route. My other truck in my avatar is on a '65 C-10 frame and I later installed a FatMan bolt-in IFS.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

It looks good. Next week we are striping the frame back down and the carb and blasting everything. I can't wait!

We have only worked on it for two and a half days and we are this far.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

Yeah, I took mine from a running truck to the new roller you see here in three full days. Heck it had a motor and could be driven before I tore into it. Three days Dad, Greg and i had it down this far and the new front and rear suspension installed.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

O.K. so I sent the cab over to Shane King at New-Blast in Athens, Al and he blasted the cab and frame and now I am sad. The cab needs corners, inner corners, rocker panels, kick panels, lower front and rear door posts, floor boards, toeboard, inner cowl panels and outer cowl panels. My buddy began cutting the rusted panels out. The cab doesn't look so bad since Shane primered it gray, here it is....

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

Yesterday, while I was there i welded up the framerails and got most of the holes completed. I have to grind the insides of the rails and weld the lower bottom side and I will be finished with the frame except for the motor mounts and locating the trans mount.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

O.K. so we got the new parts to begin repairing the cab rust in the floor. It appears as though now I need a set of hinge pockets as these are rusted beyond repair.

We also recieved the new Fatman engine and trans mounts and plan on mocking everything up for them.

Now that the front bed panel has arrived we are also going to assemble the bed this week.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

Update,

Drove down south yesterday and assembled the TRI-PRO bed. It went together really good and fit nice. After bolting it together I bolted it up to the frame along with the rear fenders. Due to my special rear end width I will be running the space saver spares until i can order my real wheels.

Anyway, so the cowl panel is now smoothed, the wipers are gone and the dash is finished. The new rocker, door jambs and inner cab corner are finished and Jarrod is installing the outer for me today. I am so stoked. The cab is suppose to be completed next week sometime. I will be bringing it home to begin building it and bondoing and painting the frame in Jan hopefully. Anyways, here are yesterdays pics.

Re: Project "Blacked Out" Begins!

The firewall is also smoothed, next week we are installing the outer cowl panels, floor boards and inner kick panels.

I am very excited. I have to order the inner cowl panel today, it is the peice that fits behind the outer cowl and bolts to the front fenders.
