I have a degree in mechanical engineering, but I'm currently working as a traffic engineer for the state DOT, but when my wife graduates from Civil Engineering in December, I hope to get hired on with GM in Michigan.

I'm a warehouse manager for a fiber optics communications company...but after reading what mreins said above, I think I would rather be divorced, living in a trailer, and getting paid to fish. lol.

Good question CrazyTexan
I worked as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic on corporate jets for a few years.
Then I got my ASE Master patch and worked as an auto mechanic for 12 years, including 3 years fixing mail trucks for the post office. Now I'm a professional Firefighter/ Paramedic. This is the job I'm keeping till retirement. Also, I own a landscaping business on the side. CrazyTexan, we live less than 5 miles from each other, and I never see your truck. What's up with that?

As my name would suggest, Im an automotive technician...ie; Mechanic, specializing in automotive a/c and electircal. Also, Im learning about real estate investing in my spare time. My goal is to become a slum lord. About 2 years ago, I owned a recording studio, and music store. Got ripped off and moved. ( Thats a long bitter story). And when Im at home, not working on my truck, I design and install custom car stereo systems and interiors.

I'm a Financial Specialist for Wachovia Bank. A glorified banker is all that is. A part time General contractor and soon to be full time. Time to remove myself from the corporate giant and move on to my own thing.
"Do what you love and you'll never work another day in you life" Can't remember who said that, I'm sure it wasn't me, I'm not that creative.

Employment
Was Navy for 10 years active (Surface then Air), then two years at Texas Instruments as a Mfg, Engineer, then back in the air - been a pilot for American Airlines for the last 17 years (9 more to go till retirement). At the same time I did another 12 years in the naval reserve to retire from that in 1996. When I'm at home I split my time between the "new" truck and working in a woodshop in my basement - starting to do some furniture and toys. "Had" to get the truck to go get lumber to make into sawdust!

I started out in the US Naval Sea Bees as a diesel/construction Mechanic. I was atually in the reserves. So after 6 months I was back home working in a mail room and drilling one weekend a month in the Navy. So I "moved up the company latter" left that company and now I am a Webmaster/Graphic Artist in the Marketing and IT dept for a fortune 300 company in downtown Dallas.
