Re: I would have taken the Money

Definitely a beautiful truck.

I'd expect a lot more than a just carb for the fuel system making that kind of an investment though.

Thats a good idea for the under the dash cover with only the heater vent sticking out. Too cool. Might have to rig something up about like it.

WAIT!! It's an XXL!!! The tailgate doesn't have a handle flip kit. If it was a MED, and the tailgate handle was flipped, I'd like it better.

I guess my valve covers will have to read "XS", if that truck is an XXL.

It looks good, to me. But at that price....it's made out of Unafordium, and I don't even know where to begin trying to find the elusive material. Maybe the Lotterius Winnus person has it......

So am I reading into this wrong, or are you saying he had MORE than 120k into it?

Quote:
I personally think it's BadA$$ that our trucks can pull in this kind of money, who cares what he put into it or what it sold for a few weeks ago, the fact is, it was pulling 80 grand and he didn't sell it.... maybe he fell in love and deceided to keep it..?
The previous owner sold it for 50k like a couple months back. The new owner (from what was posted in this thread) apparently is a very wealthy collector. I think the OP was making a point that he would have taken the 80k and been happy. Apparently this guy wants to make more than a 30k flip on this truck. More power to him if he can do it! I think it just goes to show that grammar and spelling may have affected the previous owner's auction much more than many ppl here were willing to admit.

It's funny how many of you guys can set there and pick this truck apart, about every little thing like the bumper bolts to the engine position and size. As far as position and size did anyone even notice that it is a Big Block 502? I mean lighten up, because truthfully this truck is a heck of alot better than anything most of us will ever be able to own!!

Gee...for 80 Grand look at some of the other classic cars and trucks one could buy. That is a super nice truck but I would be afrad to take it out for a drive. My luck I would meet an uninsured driver.

I saw this truck at the Dallas Autorama. It was called JALAPENO and the owner stated it was built by Stoked out. I know the owner owned a Silk Screening business at the time....

Re: I would have taken the Money

Call me picky, but for $80,000+ dollars, you would think of better placement of the filler neck than with the truck bed down. One ill-timed or hasty "pullout" and whoever owns it is gonna be cleaning gas off his $80,000 paintjob....

It surprises me that nobody noticed that the engine is sitting in the 6 cylinder spot. I amazes me when people drop that kind of dough into something and don't go the extra mile to place the engine correctly. WES

Correctly for who? Maybe they put the motor exactly where they wanted it. Not factory correct, but correct for them no?

Re: I would have taken the Money

If memory serves me right the truck was about 85% done when Stoked Out got it, they just finished it up, and changed a few things. Stoked Out does top notch work.

The guy that built the truck had around 120K into it
He builds them - hopes they win the big trophy so a trophy collector will pay way more than it is worth to say they have top Good Guys truck

120k?? Ok well someone has more money then sense. I love my trucks...but I wouldn't put that much into both of them. Trophy's are nice...but not 120k nice.

Re: I would have taken the Money

Fact: The truck was not "built" @ Stoked Out. The owner bought the truck from a body shop owner that decided to finish his Camaro and needed the cash. The only thing that SOS did was the interior, add the Baer brakes, wheels and tires and make a few changes in motor compartment. I'm not trying to start anything but I just want to make sure that the credit or other comments are pointed to the rightful owners (so to speak). Oh....and all the components came with the truck so they worked with what they had.......I understand that some things would have been different but that still a personal choice issue....
