Re: Mike's 50
I bought a set of hood emblems off ebay. they look like the others that I had with the original purchase. They match and will look good. 1st picture is the purchase, the 2nd picture is the one the came with original purchase.
3rd picture is a truck in my hood that I haven't seen before. nice truck!

Re: Mike's 50
I'm making progress, albeit slowly.
Cab is off at a friends getting some work done and will post when Its done. Its getting some paint along with some other pieces. Taking the frame apart to get it ready to send out for powder coating. took a couple of pictures and reminds me of just over 2 years ago when I got the frame in 7/14. Have to just pull front and rear suspension and then it is bare and ready to take. Will hopefully have more pictures with more progress soon. work has changed some so we will see how that affects progress.

Re: Mike's 50
We left on Saturday morning to head up to home town of Weaverville, CA. Northern Ca. We just hit the Freeways and did mostly 80mph we hit some heavy drizzle, light rain and found windshield leaks in the lower corners, and center and also my corner windows leak a small amount.
The last 45 miles is up over mountain to about 3300 ft. trans does run hot and I'm going to have to move it or.... Ran about 205f climbing the mountain. I have to work on that. Did a total of 650ish miles and no issues other than trans runs hot. need to fix water leaks and figure out either a fix for cooler where it is or move it to the front. Picture is truck thru bar window in downtown weaverville. Also new Michelins a few months ago are mostly gone, way to sticky rubber and wears fast

Re: Mike's 50
That is a very stout foundation you will be very happy with the way that truck drives,
Have you looked at front drive sets?

Re: Mike's 50
Spent sometime at the shop this weekend got a little bit mocked up slow progress. got the doors fitted, need adjustment.
Got the Altman latch kits installed, started mock up of fuel lines. Running -6 Summit hose and Fittings. Plan on using a Corvette Fuel filter with built in Regulator. May change that up later. Also installed a Street and Performance Swivel Thermostat Housing, Nice piece and will make attachment to Radiator easy. Also test fit of the Dakota Digital VHX Carbon/Blue Gauges, polished original Speaker Cover, Glove Box door.

Re: Mike's 50
worked on mounting the fuel tank also played around with Column and seat.
The column is an Ididit Brushed aluminum tilt Column. The seats (if I use them) are out of a 2011 Volvo S60 I scrapped last year. They are power and hope to hook that up. Removed the headrests as they have the Monitors for rear seat Entertainment system. |
