Re: Eye candy for the factory stock guys!

Just a cousin to my '69... minus the color.

That thing is beautiful!

Do you recall any of the paint codes you used under the hood? (Black/Orange/etc.)

As we say here in the South, that is "gaw-juss." I was born at the wrong time...imagine walking onto a lot in 69, pocket full of cash...trying to decide between a new big-block pickup, Camaro, or Chevelle...

Got any pics of the 72?

Re: Eye candy for the factory stock guys!

Thanks guys! The truck is originally a swb CST with 396, TH400 and bucket seats (and SPID to prove it). I added the speed warning and was going to add cruise. I pulled a complete cruise set-up off a 1970. I marked and measured everything to add onto this truck, drilling holes for servo and hose clamps. I had the servo mounted on firewall and as I was bolting parts to the motor I had a blond moment! Duh, the cruise came out of a small block truck and the distributor caps hits the servo in a BB truck! Notice the engage button still on the turn signal. I'll figure that one out later.
As for Zoomin's reference to the "71" bed : I bought a 1971 truck that had a near perfect bed just to use on this '69. I put another bed on the 71 and Zoomin bought it!
JB1016 - the 72 BB Super is tucked away in my in-laws garage awaiting restoration. When I financially recover from the '69 I'll start on it - it will be a while!!!

You'd be doing the same thing a lot of us old guys that were there do....
Kick yourself for not having the foresight that some day the 70 Chevelle SS you bought was going to be worth some money. Or your 55 and 56 Chevy, the 62 Chevy ll and 62 Impala, on and on...

Excellent job on the restoration! To me, the ultimate vintage pickup looks like it did when it came off the assembly line.
