Thank You for clarifying my mistake that I made.
The axle play is .040 thou not .40 It seems like that would be to much movement on those c clips. Ultimately you would have your rear end axles able to move .080 thou on you |

I realize that most shops that redrill axle bolt patterns will cover that prior to drilling
