How do those headlights work for you? I drive mine with the highbeams on and still can't see crap (of course my last car had HIDs to I am a bit spoiled). BTW, what kind of lights are they?

Re: Surf Blue

Yeah mine aren't the brightest , but they look cool. I got them from LMC. I'm not sure of the actual brand name of them , but they take a halogen bulb and relays to make them work. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I agree they do look good, but want something that I can actually drive with my truck isn't about looks (obviously if you have seen it) but more function.

His "future plans" are for vintage air so he can run his lines out the center or the side of the fire wall for a clean look.

I have got to say the back of your truck has the absolute perfect stance and tire combo! It reminds me of a pic I saw years and years ago of the "circus wagon" in a mag and it was drop dead right on. I have to say though their is somthing about the front tire size or stance or maybe just the angle of the pic that seems off. I am sure it is just the pic but ether way keep it up you are on a great track for one heck of a nice truck.

Re: Surf Blue

Well I got a little done on the truck this past week ,so I thought I'd post an update. The bed and cab are now aligned propperly (the cab was sagging) .I also jetted the carburetor up a little so now it runs a little better. The blue GMC tailgate is almost done being worked , and I lowered the seat 1.5 " I'm going out of state tomorrow to visit a buddy , he has a 72SWB thats pretty nice ,I'll post a pic of his truck when I get back. In the mean time heres 2 more pics.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Surf Blue

Well I got back from out of state. I got some interior AC parts while I was gone (for free)! I also have a few pics of my buddies truck as promised. My tailgate is done being bodyworked, I'll post pics of it as soon as I get to it. I'm going to be giving FuelCellguy a call and some money (hopefully) in the next few weeks sometime.

Re: Surf Blue

Wow... your buddy's truck is sweet! Any info on his truck since it's for sale? Price?

Anytime you can come home from being out of town with free parts is a great trip!

Can't wait to see the reworked tailgate.

Re: Surf Blue

His truck is a 72 w/68 clip. It's got a 402 BBC with a 700r4 , new paint obviously, and the same exact wheels as mine ,18/20 coys. I think he wants10.5 k for it. It still needs alot of detail work done to it .

I thought maybe you delivered some slightly used wheels that cleaned up well to him . . .... .

Re: Surf Blue

Wow... for $10.5K is appears to be pretty straight. Hopefully it will go to someone that will finish it right.

Re: Surf Blue

Small update tonight. I finally got Fuel Cell Guy some money for my fuel cell (maybe in 3 weeks I'll have it) and got a little more metal work done on the bed. I also got the driver side rocker molded in with the cab corner ,and got the first round of priming and blocking done on the tailgate.

Re: Surf Blue

My tailgate was done being worked ,and I was just too eager to see the color on the outside of the truck. So I painted it on Thursday. Since then the motivation bug has bitten. I pulled the front clip off, welded in the patch panel on the fender , and disassembled most of the interior to get going on getting it painted. I am planning on my fuel cell being here in 2 more weeks along with some new fuel line. I'm also going to be ordering a new radiator support soon ,and I'd like some opinions on it. What I'm having trouble deciding on is whether to paint it black ,or blue same as the truck. I'm not going for a show truck just a super nice truck. So post up your opinions on what color the radiator support would look the best in. THANKS.
