Re: Free Candy Inside: 63 Long Panel Build
That's the goal yes. I don't know if it'll happen as I have a lot to do. Hopefully though. Plan is to have all the framework done by this weekend and start putting the drivetrain in. Still have to make new lines and redo floors, etc. I'm going to try my best to make it there though.

When I saw the name of your thread it reminded me of a photo I took in Alaska a few years ago. Welcome and good luck on your panel.

Re: Free Candy Inside: 63 Long Panel Build
I really want to take it but I don't want to show up without it running and moving under its own power. Hopefully it'll make it even if I have to trailer it there and drive it into the show. I hate to do that but I really don't want to make its maiden voyage a few hours away.

Re: Free Candy Inside: 63 Long Panel Build
Here was the frame issue with it not setting down level. At its highest point, the frame was 8"tall. I bought some 3x5 3/16ths to add to the frame.

Re: Free Candy Inside: 63 Long Panel Build
Here is the 3x5 put in,the low spot cut out, strapping welded up. So took some of the rake out of it to make it sit even more level. Next plan is to cut the top of the frame off where the cab hits. That'll get me down another 2" total, another 3" lower than the previous pictures

Also picked up this apache hood. It's a little rough but it's the right color, white and rust. Haha

Body set back down. Now the debate is cut it off at the doors or leave it at the rockers

Re: Free Candy Inside: 63 Long Panel Build
Well after asking for opinions I did what I usually do.. What I want. After much debate on keep rockers or go to the door and eliminate all the rust we decided to go to the doors. I am going to be putting strapping down under the actual door/part of the rocker. Thinking maybe 1/4. So while I was teaching Dave got started on the rear of the frame 4" to match how far the body will travel down total. 2" for what we took off the top of the frame under the cab and 2" more for the body drop to get down to about the doors.
