today i have finished the center piece of the x member




then i checked if the engine still would fit



stil need to finish up the ends of the X member where it goes onto the frame,
and still need to box the front and rear of the frame.
but will first put the cab back on to determine the final location of the engine.

also made a mockup of the four link rear suspension

Hey Sander,ziet er prachtig uit.En mooi gemaakt zo dat kruis met die gaten.Ben benieuwd
als ie klaar is en dat ze em niet meteen op een hoop rijden.Schitterend.

Als je klaar bent heb ik nog wel een mooi projectje staan,hahaha.

put on the cab Tonight so i can get the engine in place


mesured and centered the engine in place and used some ty-rips to hold it in place


pushed the engine as far back as possible will adjust the firewall later to make some room for the right valve cover

made a transmission mount bracket





also tack welded the engine mounts in place

what are the headers from?
post up a part number, lots of guys would like to know what long tube headers fit w/mustII x-member

just pulled the engine and cab from the chassis
and will go on boxing the rest of the frame rails

cutting more and more hole's.......

how are the laws in Holland when you modify cars??-here in Norway we can do about anything with vintage cars as long as we ask first,then modify.

its tricky over here , if you import a car you have to register it at
our dmv.
at that moment the car must comply with all regulations that are set for that year car.

But you're only allowed to change/customize 1/3 of the car
which is devided in 3 major components 1 chassis, 2 driveline and 3 body
if you will radicaly change more than one it will get tricky.
then they can/will say that they cant determine anymore if the car belongs to the us title/paperwork you are providing.

so best would be to first register the car as original as possible
maybe only put in v8 if it still has a L6 so your title will match in the end.

after you have a title you only have to comply an annual safety inspection
or if your car is before 1960 it is exempt from this inspection too
that doent mean you dont have to meet the regulations,
but it makes live just a little easier.

Thank God for the USA!! Haha I cut my 64 frame into pieces, threw the back half away and the front 1/5 also and welded 1972 pieces on that. Plus have a 68 cab, 73 suspension, 70 bed and no one even blinks at it at the DMV hahaha. Plus the truck is registered as a 72

well i did some more welding on the chassis this weekend
finished up the box plate's at the axle kickup's


and also boxed up at the front



also finished up the X frame corners on one side


aslo removed the rear cross bar and i will box this rear part of the chassis
and install a new cross bar further back to accommodate more room for a fuel tank


80 holes now and still a few to go Lol.....
and a lot smaller holes to be weld up on the outside of the frame rails........

Can't argue that logic. Keep up the good work. Looks real nice. BTW how are you going to grind the welds on the inside of the original part of the frame when you fill the holes, now that you have boxed it?
