I'd like to know more info on the clark 5 speed, does anyone know if it's a direct replacement for the granny low 4 speed?

I had one of those unibody ford trucks-it was my first car when I was 16. I think it was a '63, making it only like 12 or 13 years old at the time

Usually clark 5 speeds were in medium duty trucks, and most of the time the 5th gear isn't an over drive any how. Other than gear splits, you wouldn't have a real benefit to swapping one in.

Here are all the pics again for those having trouble. I inserted them in a differnt manner than before so hopefully that clears it up. They are in the same order I first put them in so you can just scroll up if you want to read the stupid caption that goes with each of them.

I didn't get any pics of the outside but you make a good point. It was attached to the inside of that car, but very easily could have been a half-@ssed PO modification. There was too much junk around and behind it to get back there and take a look. Now I want to go back and make sure though!
