Re: CRGRS 66 – Winter Build Thread
small update...
ordered a power steering box, pump and pump brackets from Marshall Auto Wreckers in Alberta, $90.00 seemed like a killer deal to me. The plan for tonight and tomorrow is to finish organizing the garage so I can start dismantling the front end. The CPP goods will be here in a week or two, so gotta get it tore down, get the wire wheel going, and get some paint on the frame.

Re: CRGRS 66 – Winter Build Thread
I'm in to. That black and white combo is sweet. Your going to have a nice tribute to your parents. I just finished a restoration of a bike that was a tribute to my bro. It is a nice feeling to put in the blood sweat and tears.

Re: CRGRS 66 – Winter Build Thread
I'll be watching this build also....very nice truck to start with.
I have installed an HEI is a few of these trucks with the engine in the original rear location. The distributor cap is close to the firewall, but it is not an interference. You do have to remove the cap and rotor to remove the distributor from the engine though.

Re: CRGRS 66 – Winter Build Thread
Well, got started on tearing down the front end... this is my first rodeo, so kind of figuring it out as I go. I must say though, I am tickled pink with the condition of this truck. It has though been re-affirmation of what I already knew, but still, I am very pleased. There is literally very little rust on this old truck. The rear support on the drivers side fender is shot, but I already knew that, the rest of the fender is nearly rust free except for the lower portion where they all rot. Even there though this fender is not that bad. The passenger side fender, different story, this fender including the support is in outstanding condition. Both inner fenders are virtually rust free.
Okay, frustrated, unable to upload pictures at the moment. Trust me, the only thing left on the front of the truck is the bumper, suspension, and the engine.

Re: CRGRS 66 – Winter Build Thread
Is that a reflection of your truck in the tank, or is that artwork? Cool either way!!!!!!!!!

Re: CRGRS 66 – Winter Build Thread
I hope we can lean on each other for support. I'm a step ahead of you right now, just ready to assemble the front end.
I found it easier to remove everything off the front end for degreasing and painting, rather than lay on my back. I bought the CPP grand slam kit, so I should have some tips for you. Love your truck. He must have imported it from the south? Brian Posted via Mobile Device
