Well it isn't much, but I finally got back on it a little bit - I found a guy who was willing to give me 150 bucks and his old steelies for my 5X5 rallye wheels - so I prepped them pretty well and spray painted them black for now - and ordered the caps and lug nuts off of ebay - the last set never showed, I never check ebay but the other seller sold out - thus I never paid, so I didn't get ripped off or anything.

Hopefully the caps come soon, then I will try this technique

it seems right on track for the budget build, after the scrapping of the burb, and selling the wheels I think I am at zero bucks....

The whitewall technique turned out pretty good, overall I am happy with it.

I did alot of tinkering stuff, adjusted the valves - re-routed the exhaust straight back - re-wired underhood, sadly someone stole my front bumper , which had the old blue licence plate on it.

Seat coming along nice. I am trying to talk my wife in helping me do the seats in my 62. How hard is it? I have no sewing skills and I don't want to mess it up. Your tires came out good also. Did you do anything different from the video?

Well after yesterday I was plenty frustrated with the slow progress, and mediocre results, I didn't expect pro-show-quality for my first attempt with amateur equipment - however it was slow, tedious and seemed like I overthought it.

Today, I hustled to the shop at the crack of Noon, and the lowe seat cover was waayy too far gone to use as a template, so I just went for it.

First it was peel it back to foam, then clean it up and paint the frame.

Then I just popped the main cloth down, traced it in chalk and cut it out 3/4 of an inch around it.

I decided to do a better step by step today, I just marked it right on the "edge" which was a little challenge - because it's rather gradual.

Then I cut it out with a margin, marked center and marked a center front aprin. and pinned it - I find that you cannot use enough pins, and keep it flat and straight.

Next I measured the sides, it was 8" X 26 so I cut it HUGE - 10.5 x 34 To leave plenty of space, and did my level best to pin it a bunch and curve in one swoop.

Here is the basic lay out and flopped back over, I will have to come back to the seam where the side and front apron meet.

Pretty impressive for a DIY type interior and I agree with what you learned next time will go even better.

Solid point, I have a ton of pictures - and have done some other odds and ends, but still have a windshield to install and to repaint the interior. I've put quite a few miles on it since 13, I'll get back at it for the board!
